  • Putting some new gear to use including the new DZO Catta Zooms and Intellytech Mega-LiteCloth. Thanks to Brandon and Travis for helping with the BTS in this video! Check out Brandon's channel: / @bwashmedia
    EDIT: in the video, I mentioned that I rated the camera at 500 EI, but I actually metered at around 320 EI (1 1/3 stops over native). Sorry for any confusion.

    cool video! i've been using the MagaCloth for a few years now and it's good for interviews but I also love it for narrative. a fraction of the cost of LiteTile. Also, if you want more wrap, you can orient the light horizontal instead of vertical.

      I like using it horizontal as well! I just liked the extra contrast in the vertical orientation.

    Would love to know why this light is a better choice than the Falcon Eye 120tdx which has double the output. Thanks!

    Nice job Rob! I’m testing the Canon 20-50 right now. Spoiler alert: it’s really nice lol. How’s the flaring on the catta zooms? I’ve been looking at those for car rig stuff when I need to balance the gimbal with just one lens.

    • @robchado
      @robchado  2 года назад

      Bruhhhhhhh tell Canon to send me one 😂
      I haven't tested the flaring yet, I've mainly used it in controlled enviroments.

    Mind sharing with me what equipment you used to setup your 8x8 solids? I'm trying to find a kit that works for me. And having trouble finding all the accessories and tools I need for this setup which include the pole, the adapter to hold the pole and the actual 8x8 cloth.

    • @robchado
      @robchado  2 года назад

      I used 8' speedrail, an ear for speedrail, as well as an 8x8 solid. They were rented but you can buy rags from The Rag Place and find speedrail online or get some from a hardware store.

    Thanks Robert, @3:00 you said you do a "quick grade at home" would you elaborate on that grade ?

    • @robchado
      @robchado  2 года назад +4

      I mainly use the Lift, Gamma, Gain controls in Resolve to push the image back down to the correct exposure. I can also make a quick video on the process if it helps.
