  • This Video is a simple, but effective introduction to Phased Array Ultrasonic Inspection. It may be of interest to those people who already have some knowledge in conventional ultrasonics and who want to have an overview about the Phased Array technology. It's also based on the usage of the Sonotron NDT products such as Isonic 2010 or Isonic 3510. The content is the same theoretical content we present during our free "PA Introduction Training day". During our in-house free training we also teach participants how to use the instrument in practical exercises etc.

Thank you for a good video. What are the limitations in the material thicknesses. Can you check thin plate butt, full penetration butt welds for 5 mm?

Usually 6 to 7 mm is the thickness limitation. However, with the right probe and optimimized instrument setting we were able to go down to 4,5 mm.

With Phased Array 5mm is possible
