It’s so gorgeous 😍😍 I just started my first one and I’m doing linen stitch squares. One square per month each round is a different day. And a white border on each one. Januarys square came out soooo good 👏🏻 love crochet so much 💜
I love the colors! I just started my 2023 temp blanket, I’m a newbie 😂 and 6 days in I’m loving it. I’m usually the first one up in my home, (5:30 am) so crocheting a row is part of my quiet time.
that's awesome! good luck with your blanket! i feel like this is an easy place to start since a lot of temp blankets can be just one type of stich, so it's also really great practice
Thank you for the tips. I have been thinking about doing a blanket for this year but did not thing about having the yarn readily available to purchase, excellent point. 🐆
Thanks for the total skeins used. That's about what I estimated for the blanket I'm about to start. To decide how much of each color I am likely to need I looked at temps for last year calculated percentages for each temperature range. That way I could order lots of our most common temperatures and just a few skeins of the outlier temperatures. Your blanket is beautiful!
Awesome! I'm a crochet noob & really wanna try a temperature blanket (or any blanket, for that matter), but I'll at least wait to see how my first scarf ever turns out 😅
I feel like a temperature blanket is a great way to start because it also helps you perfect a specific stitch! Good luck with your scarf in the meantime :)
Beautiful! I started my 2022 and I am using the same hooks size, yarn brand, and stitch as you did for your 2021. I hope it looks as nice as yours does. 😊
I'm working on my first temperature blanket. I wish I had done something besides a basic single crochet stitch. And I am using a basic weight yarn too and I wish I had gone with something softer, fluffier. :( And I'm realizing I am using way more of on color then any other. I may for my next one change up the temperatures more. Maybe go every 5 degrees for temps between 40-85 degrees since those are my most used. I don't know. lol. I'm sure I'll think of more things as the year progresses!
It will depend on the weight of yarn you're using, but I believe a twin size blanket is about 66" wide. When you work on your chain, I'd make it about 66". Then when you come back for the first row, double-check your measurement just in case your stitches made it a little wider. It's a little bit of trial and error!
@@angeldawn definitely! I already made my chain and first row in a neutral color just to check and I think it’s perfect. Im using Impeccable yarn size 4, and I made around 245 chains. It hangs over both sides of my bed so I think it’ll be pretty good! Im so excited to actually start in January
Your blanket is great, but a bit too long for me. I'd never be able to lift it! I love the stitch you used.🐾🐈💜 I'm new to your channel and I've never made a temperature blanket. I'm thinking of doing a small square per day. Maybe using the linen stitch, I think Toni from tl yarn crafts did one like that. Not sure yet, thanks for the advice. 😻
I think the small square per day idea is also really good! By the time I realized my 2021 blanket would be too long, it was WAY too late to stop haha but I still love it!
Is doing anyone out there that knows how many chains to start a temperature blanket reasons why ask some of us who crochet want the number of chain stitch because of the tension in the hands so we are asking the correct number of chain stitches can someone out there help us not many of us like guessing our work and guessing can also be a bit annoying can someone out there tell us the correct number of chains what is an adult blanket thank you
The starting # of chains depends on the weight of your yarn, the size of the hook you are using, your tension, and the size of the blanket you want. If you look up 'blanket sizes' on Google, this will give you the measurements recommended in inches. When it comes to calculating the # of stitches you will need, it's always helpful to look at the recommended swatch size on the label of your yarn. The yarn label will tell you how many stitches and rows SHOULD be in that area. I am not a professional, just another crochet hobbyist making projects for myself. This blanket was made for my own personal collection, so I did not find it necessary to measure to a specific size. This was just for fun!

Angel it’s so gorgeous!!!
I put mine on the back of my three seat couch it fit well
nice!
How many base chains did you start with?
I’m planning to start one in January and make it fit a twin size bed. I was wondering how many chains did you crochet in the beginning?
