The velcro is to attach gaiters, I think, which stop grit etc getting into your shoes when running on muddy trails.

Me and my husband had the boxes for the Pokémon games. The actually games got lost in his parents attic. We sold the empty boxes for £60-£90 a box.

I still have no sale days with 300+ listings, could be a lot of things though, prices, pictures, item specifics etc. hopefully it picks up for you.

Thank you! Yeah usually on the pricier shoes they’ll go into a box. Cheaper ones in a poly bag.
