I saw this movie in the summer of 82 just before I started high school that September. I was praying my high school would be like this. this movie in my opinion started all the great teen movies of the '80s
Man.....our generation made some of the best movies.......then we just stood around and watched the government, the internet and social media turn our world to shit in comparison to back then. Us Gen Xrs shouldn't be proud of where we are today, I'm sure most aren't. Tons of movies portray each earlier generations better off then the next. We should've known better.
The "pizza guy" who delivered that cheese pizza to Spicoli in class was Chuck Negron's cousin, Taylor Negron. Chuck was one of the three lead singers in the '70s group-- Three Dog Night. Sadly, Taylor passed away in 2015 of cancer.
After fast times, John Hughes made some of the best High School movies of all time. Sixteen Candles, Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Some kind of Wonderful.
I just got done watching this amazing movie masterpiece for the 5,000th time. Still is an all time classic and thank you for making this video. It really is amazing to see how they have all aged over the past 40 years. Every time I hear the song Moving In Stereo I think of the pool scene!!
God in '82 I was 10 years old I'll be 50 on July 15, and must of snuck in the theater a few times to see it especially when ms Cates took her top off at the pool scene LoL
"Fast Times At Ridgemont High" is a great movie with a great soundtrack (Including; Sammy Hagar, The Go- Go's, The Cars, Tom Petty, Jackson Browne, Don Henley, Don Felder, Led Zeppelin and Billy Squier, just to name a few). The movie mostly holds up today, and I still watch it on DVD every once in a while. I was turning 14 when "Fast Times" was released in 1982. I watched it on Showtime about 100 times. It seems like yesterday that "Fast Times" was released. Time sure flies when you are having fun. "Fast times" has the dubious distinction of having the most paused scene (and subsequent worn spot) in the history of the VHS tape rental format. I am sure you all know which scene that is....lol. It's strange that there is no mention of Nicolas Cage (credited as Nicolas Coppola), Anthony Edwards (Top Gun, ER) or Nancy Wilson (the band Heart) in this video. They all had small parts in "Fast Times" as well. They just don't make actual funny movies like this anymore, in this "woke" world we live in today. Oh, the good ol' days. 🙂
Don't think he had any lines. But, he was seen, cooking at the All American Burger. He did his own teen/young adult comedy, soon after Fastimes...I forgot the title, but Cage was the star and while it wasn't as good as this one, it wasn't bad.
@@waynej2608 That movie was "Valley Girl" and it was VERY good. To many as good or better than Fast Times. Cage was great in the role of the outcast non-Valley dude. The soundtrack of Valley Girl is a classic.

I graduated from High School in May of 1982. I Saw this movie at the theater about 2 or 3 weeks after my graduation. My history teacher was nothing like Mr. Hand. I was glade when the teachers were saying something about the final, I was glad I didn't have to hear that anymore. I thought that was a great movie. I have watched it many times. Thanks 👍.

To the people at Good Old Days you forgot to include Anthony Edwards. Anthony played a pot head also along with Sean Penn and Eric Stoltz. Anthony Edwards was the unforgettable Dr. Mark Green on the tv show E.R. and of course he was Goose from the movie Top Gun. Love me some Anthony Edwards!
I think the less people try to alter their faces, the better. Ray was awesome, Jennifer still looks great. The last guy Russo is bitchen, he's played a lot of great characters in more movies than you'd guess.
I know this was a comedy and many of the scenes were over the top but this was probably the closest depiction of what 80s high school was actually like out of all the school movies I've seen.
The guy who played the older guy who was out of high school who bedded Stacy was younger then most of the high school students. This was right before a John Hughes came on the scene and started casting real teenagers as teenagers not actors pushing 30.
