    In Russia, hemp has long been considered one of the most valuable crops. In Siberia and even in some northern provinces, its seeds were almost the only source of vegetable oil. (Hemp seeds contain fatty oil (up to 40%), tar, vitamin K, choline, cholesterol, sugar, edestin, saponins). And from the stems they made hemp, from which ropes twisted, twisted ropes and weaved a rough cloth. For many centuries, hemp has been one of the main articles of Russian exports.
    In Soviet times, many peasants were mainly engaged in the cultivation of hemp. In 1928, Russia occupied the first place in the world in terms of hemp sowing area - 966 thousand ha.
    The Lykov family who went to the taiga continued to engage in agriculture, which helped them survive in the taiga, in complete isolation.
    And Agafya Lykova continues to remain faithful to traditions and still lives according to the laws of her ancestors.
