It still doesn't feel real. All these years, all the adventures, the good and bad moments with him and Pikachu, its gonna be really weird to see the anime continue without Ash.
@@eldar6267 And ? That's irrelevant, it's a video, and no n64 games had videos. ( the exception being resident evil 2 ) Videos were too heavy for a cartridge.
I love this game so much. I played it for hours upon hours as a kid and it was something that my family would enjoy playing with me, as well. I love the music and the battles can get really intense sometimes. I’m so thankful this game is now a part of Switch Online!
With Pokémon journeys slowly on the rise with their continuity callbacks, I wouldn’t mind a new game with this format of puzzle but using its expanded cast over all the regions
One thing you need to remember about everything related to the Pokémon anime: *_EVERYTHING IS CANON._* There's none of that Dragon Ball fandom debating shit where people argue about what's canon or what's non-canon.
It doesn't fit with the games though, many many times. No mention of PP; getting a Ghost-type to fight a Psychic in "Abra and the Psychic Showdown" doesn't fit in Gen. I - Psychic is immune to Ghost-types in Gen I, but super effective in all other generations. So is the game wrong or the anime? Either way it's inconsistent. And of course there's tons of errors regarding moves that can't be performed by Pokémon, etc.
Fun fact: this game is a localization of a cancelled N64 sequel to panel de pon on the SNES. Said sequel was eventually released in Japan as part of Nintendo puzzle collection on GameCube
I remember that game from Super NES. I think or thought I played or had one on gameboy color possibly too. Memory is fading. I have this game for N64 and it's fun. I never got into pokemon so I don't really know anything about pokemon besides casual stuff but enjoy puzzle games and this is a classic.
I see they still have the "Nintendo" sound right at the beginning from when the game was probably still a Panel De Pon game, and a few other sound effects.
I remember begging my mom to buy this, only to realise this was not the pokemon game i was expecting. Didn’t have the balls to be sad and played the shit out of it. Who the fuck makes a puzzle pokemon game?
It's too bad this game never got a sequel. (And NO, "Pokémon Puzzle Challenge" doesn't count because it's not anime based. It's like if "Kingdom Hearts IV" was based on Universal properties-like "Back to the Future", "Fast & Furious", and "Jurassic Park"; it WOULD be a "Kingdom Hearts" game, but NOT a Disney game.)
I don't know how you did it. When I played I'm just proud to have gone against Super Hard Mewtwo about 7 times. You literally have about 30 seconds to beat him or be crushed.
Based on the 1997 animated series of the same name which aired in syndication (UPN 20 KTXH Houston) and on other channels (The WB, Cartoon Network, Disney XD, etc) Pokemon has been currently airing on Netflix but my mom canceled it due to the controversy earlier There are some episodes that are available online Nintendo re-released it on Wii (as a Virtual Console download)
That's because it is released only in North America (and Europe) as a tie-in to the 1997 animated series which originated as a Japanese anime It is based on Panel de Pon, a Japanese puzzle game, which is previously known as Tetris Attack (for the Super NES) in the west It has nothing to do with Tetris although it is a licensed Tetris game that has Pokemon characters
Japanese Puzzle game starring cute magical girls localized in the US with most its world modified to the likeness of an animated adaptation of the popular game of its time. Where did i've heard that story before?
I never played this game cause I thought it was too cheesy which is why I played stadium. With that said, what benefit is there in choosing between Ash's three pokemon for the puzzle challenge. I never understood that concept about this game.
For this mode it means nothing really, however in Vs mode each Pokémon is a life, a fancy way to do rounds. If you lose a round, that Pokémon is out. Whoever loses all three of their Pokémon first loses
It's too bad none of the pokemon games were Electronic Gaming Monthly's game of the month. The original games came out the same time as Metal Gear Solid, the sequels and puzzle league around the huge crush of great games at the end of 2000...
I remember being so disappointed way back then, when I realised this game was NOTHING what I hoped it would be... Open world RPG. Oh then I bought Pokemon Snap. Imagine my disappointment!!!!
I remember this game from back in the day. I bought it cause it was Pokemon, but kept playing it cause it was a legit good puzzle game. Honestly, the person playing this footage is NOT GOOD at this game, at all. Making so many mistakes here. I also noticed the not-so-smooth edit at 31:44 where you finally started learning how to actually play this game.
This whole game alone hits differently now considering that Ash & Pikachu’s adventure are about to come to an end…..
It still doesn't feel real. All these years, all the adventures, the good and bad moments with him and Pikachu, its gonna be really weird to see the anime continue without Ash.
This game is extremely impressive to have video cutscenes...
They might use the frame by frame technique.
Like taking screenshots of the animated cutscene to avoid taking too much space on cart
@@nintendorakyamato1859 Wait what ?? Frame by frame ... ?

Gary’s Pokémon: Nidoran (F), Growlithe and Krabby
Brock’s Pokémon: Geodude, Vulpix and Zubat
Misty’s Pokémon: Horsea, Psyduck and Staryu
Lt. Surge’s Pokémon: Raichu, Jolteon and Magneton
Erika’s Pokémon: Tangela, Weepinbell and Gloom
Koga’s Pokémon: Venomoth, Voltorb and Golbat
Sabrina’s Pokémon: Abra, Hypno and Alakazam
Blaine’s Pokémon: Arcanine, Charmeleon and Magmar
Tracey’s Pokémon: Marill, Venonat and Scyther
Team Rocket’s Pokémon: Weezing, Arbok and Golbat
Giovanni’s Pokémon: Persian, Sandslash and Nidoking
Ritchie’s Pokémon: Pikachu (Sparky), Charmander (Zippo) and Butterfree (Happy)
Lorelei’s Pokémon: Cloyster, Poliwhirl and Dewgong

Gary’s Pokémon: Nidoqueen, Arcanine and Kingler
Mewtwo’s Pokémon: Bulbasaur (Bulbasaurtwo), Squirtle (Squirtletwo) and Pikachu (Pikachutwo)
And then Ash was probably disappointed to find out that the Puzzle League "battles" were just Tetris puzzle challenges.
I'm surprised that the game not only has original animations, but that they would look good on the N64.

I kind of feel sad for the country of Japan who couldn't play this game at the time of its release in America. I wonder why that happened.
Truly wish that they would remake this for the switch 😩❤️
Its not a remake but they do have it ported for the N64 app on the Switch.
