Well, eight years later I seem to come across to the actual full concert on the "Hard Rock on MV", last song was Revival... and what the hell, the version I am commenting right now is HIGHLY edited. VERY VERY edited. It actually got me by surprise... I always knew this version... Check it out. Yikes. (Not that good live).
Yep. Hate when people say Blue Monday was their only good song. I wasn’t disappointed after finding out it was a cover, I like it better. They have: Stitches Platinum Blue Monday Gender Pantomime Revival Opticon Fiction Eva 107 Eyes-Radio-Lies Re-Creation The Spectrum Beautiful Disgrace Vague The Obvious Pure
They were so perfectly late 1990s/early 2000s, it’s just a shame those times didn’t lost longer. There was always a vibe to those times that I wish I wasn’t too young to experience. I’m from ‘95, but there’s more I wish I could’ve understood and experienced.
I'm currently listening to my old Nu Mental, metal, prog rock etc. albums when I'm preparing dinner that takes a bit longer and I was listening this album yesterday. Still so good! Too bad they never took off completely.
Check the stuff by Orgy guitarists Amir and Ryan, they are called Julien-K and they're still making music like the best takes from Candyass and Vapor Transmission, all these unique guitar-synths, hyper fuzzes, and everything, and they're still working with the rest Orgy stuff: Bobby, Paige and Anthony (except Jay...). Give a try to 'This Machine' or 'Shut Down Your Soul' tracks.
@@iwillfindastar I'm aware dude but thx for the tip anyways.. Ryan has a beautiful voice I really liked California noir and "darkest days of my bitter youth" and "killer instinct" 💯🔥
@@iwillfindastar Uuuuh, thank you for the suggestion! I was just listening to Candyass yesterday and I though, dang, I still love this sound, so sad there isn't more of it.
Man you’re lucky , I was still a kid and my cousin got the VHS recording of this event and we would watch it so much. Feelings of nostalgia and missing out when I think about this event
They were huge when they came out. Their first album went platinum and they had two big singles off Candyass. Not to mention their second album went gold. What the hell are talking about?
Hey Jay Gordon! I've been a fan yours, since you debuted with your cover of Joy Division/New Order's "Blue Monday" in '98, when I was only 16. 😍 Literally a quarter century later, your cover remains to be my favorite version.🤭 Also, I'm an Old School KoRn Kid from '94 and aired both your bands on my college radio show, when I was a DJ 20 years ago! Speaking of Orgy and KoRn, how'd you feel if I told you that I physically modeled my protagonist, Dr. Woody Johnson after YOU with SOME of Jonathan Davis' freaky personality and dark past?😉 I suspect that some Horror publishers can't handle my Short Horror Story and reject it because it's too realistic and grisly for their agenda(s). Anyway, Orgy still sounds fantastic live!🤘🤘
@@WithDiameter there's nothing wrong with that all. I'm literally 1 year YOUNGER than MTV and was in diapers watching Billy Idol's promos for it, yelling, "I WANT MY MTV!" The biggest kicker is that he's 1 of my Twitter or "X" followers. Also, Billy Idol regrets NOT seeing the Goth Punk band, Joy Division, before the late Ian Curtis committed suicide. Ian Curtis' suicide led to Joy Division rebranding as New Order. Because of that band, we have Orgy's cover of New Order's song "Blue Monday." In the original version of the song, those are Ian Curtis' vocals that were salvaged from when he was still alive in Joy Division. I'm still reeling over the fact, that Joy Division/New Order were SNUBBED for last year's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction.
Orgy was so fucking good. Still are. They were obviously rock/pop so idk WHY TF they didn’t blow tfffff up like linkin park did with the rock/rap. Jay Gordon needs his flowers for sure. And if you haven’t heard the beat to the remix he did for linkin park on their remix album holy fuck you need to! Talented. Absolutely talented
As much as I know about the inner workings of Orgy, this was a long time coming. They were a plastic coated fantasy in the late 90's. Some of us knew what was no less than a treasure but yes it was just not time. Now the bullshit has stripped away the spirit of Orgy and I want my tattoo removed despite promising Paige I never would. Good luck, you have the talent, do you have the patience and humility?
I thought they were horrible live, both times. They came on, played, and left. No crowd interaction, no effort, nothing. Great music, great stage presence, just disappointing.
Jay has one of the best, most unique voices
Criminally underrated singer
Gen-X Gary Numan.
This is one band that sounds better live than on CD.
Most metal sounds better live than on CD.
MrFunkE101 You also have to remember that Orgy was pretty unknown at this time... most people there had no idea who the hell they were.
For sure, dude. Studio is disappointing compared to this
to date, Orgy has been my top live show, and I've been to a TON of shows. Orangevale Boardwalk 2003/4 I think?

These guys made some solid tunes. They should've had a longer shelf life as a band.

I mean, they would have if it wasn't for Jay Gordon being a freaking weirdo... But at least we have Julien-K?
What do you mean? They're still around... Last album was 2022

Candyass was the coolest fucking album when it came out. I'm still impressed by the creative decisions they made with that one.
The Corona is forcing me to go on this awesome nostalgia trips.
I think this frickin pandemic has given us all that opportunity my guy 🤘
@@Grym0626 corona helped me find this type of music also

I'm sad they didn't make another album with the sound of this one.. Its such a cool record 😱🔥

Julien-K's music is sonically similar and crunchy, but the vocals are just so d-tier unfortunately
This has aged surprisingly well!!
I've seen a lot. This is very near my most vivid memory. Family Values Tour.! Great Western Foroum. CA.
Man you’re lucky , I was still a kid and my cousin got the VHS recording of this event and we would watch it so much. Feelings of nostalgia and missing out when I think about this event
Also I had no idea it was in cali
I love the way how Jay stares in to space. It's like he waiting for a response from the crowd lol
My favorite song
Random opinion: Get all the original members together and cover “Policy Of Truth” by Depeche Mode. 🤯
Wow! KoRn has shown me lots of amazing bands!
Jay sounds so fuc***ng amazing!
I grew up in this awesome era of music where the background of the artist didn't matter as long as they stood by their music and rocked it hard. 🤘💯
Such an incredible band live. Still as good as ever.
Это просто охрененно, смотрю третий день на повторе без остановки!
My late cousins favorite band damn these guys were awesome
whoa jonathan davis is such an amazing vocalist love the way he makes the song sound soo much better
Always love seeing David from Korn jamming side stage lol
I remember this.
Great band, great song.

Orgy was very original on their songwriting, i know they covered Blue Monday but i count that great song as an inspiration for them
I really miss these days.
Great video.. I can never get my battery or storage to last long enough to get a whole concert like that
Love this song!
excelent song
perfect!!
great song
Saw them at the Whiskey A Go-Go this year, Revival was fucking killer.
Orgy and KoRn are my favorites
✨🌟✨
I always wished the original track opened the way they did it here
Family values 98 I have it on DVD

@WhatsHappening783402 and now Jay is back on tour as Orgy with new band members
2024
@Karza00
Yea it sucks that they went down the hole. Hope they get out and brush their self off and bring some good stuff like their old stuff. :)
i will never understand why the audence act dead while they were performing their music is really good !
@Karza00 same with stabbbing westward. i loved both bands in '99 and they just couldnt go any further on the charts.
porraa!!!
@TheKazperz oh how have they reformed or something?
I can't find it.
Related Artist - Fuel. ?????? What ??????
Thats a good band tho
I thought Davis' voice just seemed to me lol
Does anyone know that type of guitar that is? I believe rythm guitarist it's blue I believe blue or purple ( I'm color blind ) it's sic
I think it’s a Jackson Roswell custom shop
Rami Malek and Jay Gordon look strikingly similar here...
It was hard to compete with the Backstreet Boys and Nsyc in those days.
What a lame crowd. The only time they ever showed a pulse here was just for Jonathan Davis.
Because the Mix of the DVD
