Back when Toei made One Piece awesome and a better experience the manga. Now...not so much. This older animation had so much more energy and life in it even if the artwork looks a bit date....and then there's the pacing....which fucking sucks now. Midway through fishman island and after that, OP anime went down in quallity considerably.
People eat up the Wano animation, but not me. If they have to rely on theatrics, saturation, and sharp edges, it's not appealing to me. I'm a simple man. I just want muted colors, soft edges, and sfx that do more with less. Unfortunately, in this day and age that doesn't exist. Breaks my heart that we get so much flashy, but shallow content nowadays.
