    Jason Shapiro discusses today's #stockmarket action as an early rally failed and the #nasdaq and S&P500 closed lower while the #russell continued to show strength and proof that traders are rotating into small caps expecting the rate cut in September. Patient is key here and trying to catch the bottom will not end well.

    Whoever thinks this market will continue upwards and beyond has their head in their rear. There is a correction coming since the Russell and the Dow are showing signs of weakness. Depending on the correction may determine if the market rallies once more in the summer for a final blow off top and slightly newer high. After that, watch out. Cycle Analysis predicts a hard drop in the late summer early Fall. Also, we are now 190% Market Cap to GDP ratio. That is very extreme......currently I've been engaged in active trading, which is generally safer, allowing investors to weather market volatility and also managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.3Bitcoin to a decent 24Bitcoin....I'm especially grateful to Francine Duguay, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

      Agree 100%. As soon as buybacks re-commence and megas start reporting, everyone is likely to rush back into Qs. So funny too, cuz everyone was waiting for a dip, and now they’re getting one and buying the IWM instead of scaling into positions.

    • @bpb5541

      @@indianajones3315 i was really hoping that the market would rally even higher so I could build my massive short position even more at even better prices, but I might not get that now. Which is okay. I have a crap ton of shorts already. My buy to cover will be when the VIX spikes above 80. That might be years from now. Then i will cover and go long all the stuff I want but at much cheaper prices. Of course I will let price and how it acts tell me what and where exactly I do that. I don't hypothisis about most things.. except maybe MACRO ... I think the USA is in real trouble folks just haven't figured it out yet.... but they will and when they realize it they will have lost at least 50%... I think everything said and done we get an 86% crash. That will be the buy event not now...not at these bubble prices. Now is the time to be taking profits and if you don't know how to short properly just wait. Yes you might miss another 10 percent up... but better to miss that then lose 50%. Of course most are not going to do this. They are already FOMO iing .... like crazy. You can see it in the stocks that have gone nearly vertical. Things that go up fast are the one that come down the hardest. What I worry about most is someone who has worked their whole life and is close to or in retirement and they lose half of that. That event is going to make me a lot of money but I know while my bank account is getting bigger there are a lot of folks that just lost their house, their car, and might even have to go back to work. Going back to work at anything older than 65 is a travesty. Folks who are long and have bought into not timing the market but time in the market, and don't use stop loss orders are at real risk.

    what do you mean by vacuum?

    • @animaldonut
      @animaldonut Месяц назад +1

      Markets hate a vacuum means:
      If one thing leaves (air leaving creates a vacuum) something must replace it. It means markets hate “nothing happening.” When money leaves one place (tech, for example) it needs to go somewhere else (the Russell 2000 small cap stocks).
      But money and markets hate to stand still because they are made of people who, right or wrong, need to take some action to “move the market” and they make sure there is no vacuum.
      Sometimes doing nothing is best. Jason said being patient is something he likes to do when there is no clear opportunity.
      The best traders have a lot of discipline.

    What do you mean by there will be a vacuum in Nasdaq once the rotation is done?

    • @robertlu5117
      @robertlu5117 Месяц назад

      One thing can happen, people waiting for tech rebound, they don't want Chase Russell. Or both indexes rally, there would be problem when market started to form a top. I don't know this gonna happen. beginning of the year , people don't chase tech , and bid into Russell now is opposite

    • @bpb5541
      @bpb5541 Месяц назад

      I think the rotating into the Russell trade... is going to be known as the biggest rug pull in history.

    • @animaldonut
      @animaldonut Месяц назад

      I think what he means is when the Nasdaq sells out…and lots of money has left the tech stocks - it will be like everything got sucked out.
      And I think he meant that eventually - it could be a while, a day, a week, a month, two months, maybe longer - but tech will come back into favor eventually.
      For me the key was the point that the market is not going to give you a gift. There is no pause where the market says: THIS IS THE BOTTOM.
      Also, my other favorite part was him saying that EVERYBODY is trying to pick the bottom. We are all trying to get in there and it’s very, very hard to do.
      That observation is both simple and powerful.
      This is a superb video and an excellent channel.

    Hi! What did you mean by vacuum in the NASDAQ? 🙏

    •  Месяц назад +1

      My interpretation when no body left to sell, it will suck everyone in at once.

    • @animaldonut
      @animaldonut Месяц назад +1

      I think he means that when lots of people sell Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, Meta, Amazon, Google, etc., they will seem unpopular and cheap.
      This is when they will be “unloved” and people will be focused on the next hot thing.
      But then, like a vacuum cleaner turned on, these TECH stocks will suddenly seem EXCITING again and investors will start buying back in.
      So, markets hate the vacuum of everyone leaving (emptiness = vacuum) and they will fill it again.
      I hope this analogy helps! 😊

    I think 401k and IRAs mean a stead stream of money into the market and the managers need to buy something. I don't think the small caps are good right here. What happens when they call a recession ... most likely all ready in one ... and the 10 year yield goes up not down? I estimate at least half of the Russell 2k companies are zombies. How are they going to stay afloat if their revenue is declining and the cost to borrow is going up not down? Say they just refi at a 2 year when it gets slammed back to zero.. which it will that only keeps them alive for so long... its not just the Federal Reserve trying to thread the needle... lot of folks are. I think that is possible but highly improbable.

      A stock market tape, also known as ticker tape, is a visual representation of stock trade info….it can be a physical ribbon of paper (in the old days) or an electronic display.
      The “tape” provides investors with real-time information about price movements and market conditions. When Jason says “watching the tape” he’s using trader lingo that’s been around for many years from before people used computer screens.
      20 years from now if you tell people you spent hours using “THINK OR SWIM” they won’t know what you’re talking about 😂
      It all comes from the fact that before electronic trading, stock trade information was printed on paper “tape” and watching the tape” meant “watching the market.”

      I was day trading both yesterday and today. I could feel and see the fear in big bearish candles at key areas. The close today on the NASDAQ was picture perfect... 1220 to 1235 reversal up until it hits a trader pivot and then reverses into the close. This trade alone ... but you have to be very skillful can make someone a lot of money. You can't trade with indicators for it to work... pure price action.. there are very few people with this skill set. It works because you are just jumping on the coat tails of big money. The openening using price action is money too.
