Kobbie Mainoo is the difference maker. What they have been missing for years. Rice and Wharton will be too defensive. The only way England will win anything is when they are offensive minded. Mainoo is the cog to support both defense and attack and has the skill to take on and go past players and also beat the press.
Foden hasn’t adapted yet and he does need to adapt to the best player in the world, Bellingham. But if there’s someone who can it has to be him. He has the most important role for England alongside Saka. Their role is to provide control and to provide service to Harry Kane.
