This game had so many memorable moments and characters, where else do you fight an emperor in a castle inside a cyclone ? Makes me wish they remade this game in 3D, but with an action focus and emphasis on using multiple weapons and with NPC companions with the FF12 Gambit System.
@@KaiserAfini I wish that some of the tracks get scrapped like the Imperial Army theme as well as polishing the Stat system in the game. The level design should be redone from scratch and the side characters shouldn't be more interesting than the main cast and the characters overall need a bit more depth to them. I honestly can't see something like this happening, but it sure is nice to dream, isn't it?
@@r8_the_moo I've seen worse, remember that the first Final Fantasy pretty much defined the JRPG genre, this was their second attempt ever. Plus they had to work under the tech limits of the Famicom, an 8 bit console. All things considered, they did a decent job. The stat system was highly experimental, it looks good on paper, but the end result is not that satisfying. Even so, the game had its moments. I suggest checking out either the GBA or PSP versions, they are the best versions, with an extra campaign for all the characters who died in the main story.
@@KaiserAfini I did and my criticism referred to the GBA version. I didn't touch the NES version at all, since I already knew that the game had severe problems. I do admit that the game had its moments but because there was little to say about the main cast because they could leave the impression that any of their decisions in the game had very little purpose for themselves as they were just orders. And my comment was referring to how a remake of this game should look like, if that ever happened, which I think it won't. The game clearly doesn't stand the test of time, even the PSP version doesn't in my opinion.
The mechanics are so overhated and exaggerated. I'm not finished with it yet (playing the pixel remaster veraion) but it's seriously not nearly as bad as I kept hearing for all these years. Building characters certain ways has been fun so far.
@@yams7355 I don't know, the two things that made me hate the game, being magic (Ultima and Life are the worst spells in the game) and the dungeon design, never got changed, so I feel my complaints still stand. I haven't played the Pixel Remaster yet, so I gotta ask: can you still break the game's damage scaling by fighting unarmed?
@@arthurnewton1125 I have since beated the game and my opinion overall is that the game basically sucks lol. Yes you can still do that. I like elements of the game but overall its not so good
@arthurnewton1125 I'd disagree, sure the dungeons suck in some aspects, but the games spells are overpowered. Firion is my white mage, and he's the goat to say the least, the Teleport spell, when grinded and leveled up, practically acts as an instakill. Also the story isn't half bad at all. This game deserves a lot more respect.
When I first played this on PS1 I was amazed with the music quality. Some days later I dreamt I was on the rebels mansion, walking through some of the corridors while listening to this masterpiece..... 0.o
I love final fantasy 2. The soundtrack and art go so well together. My imagination takes over as a movie drawn by Amano plays in my head. "Final Fantasy 2- The Fully Animated Movie"
I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS FOREVER oh my god. thank you SO much. IMO this is one of the BEST tracks in Final Fantasy history. just the feel and everything behind this song is amazing, inspiring, even.
Anytime I heard this throughout the game, it kinda inspired me to destroy the imperial army. I felt like I was looking through the eyes of the rebels and into the face of tyranny. 😊
Originally I wanted to write my Masterthesis about roses and wanted to play this in the background whenever I am working on my thesis. sadly the professor didn't accept my topic due to financial reasons so I am now working with berries but still I sometimes come to listen to this track and look forward to work with roses
ff2 was a pain for me. too much grinding, magic was too weak, axe was also weak as hell, it was just unbalanced. but still a nostalgic game for me. the OSTs are what kept me.
The major reason why was because it was the first final fantasy game they made after the first one so they were trying new things they were still experimenting with what they wanted
@nitronzx I know, right? :D I started searching when I listened the SNES version, I LOVED IT. Then I found this version, and realized the other videos had short versions of it, so I made the loop :P I'm glad you enjoyed :)
Firion in Dissidia: My dream is to fill the world with wild roses. Everyone else: We want that to be our dream too. Firion: Hell no! Go find your own dreams you freaking copycats!
2 will always be favorite the first time you fire up the game you see the terror of the emperor and finally after you think you’ve killed the bastard he comes back conquering heaven and hell and his soul gets divided, just absolutely wild.
Idk if anyone else feels this, but this song gives me a similar feeling that some of the old Soviet revolutionary songs have. It's a both empowering and mournful feeling to the music. I love stuff like that. It just feels good.
Clearest version...hey can you loop the hiryuus theme (aka dragon spreads its wings) from ffv but do it using the ending theme slightly orchestrated version please
me too. I didnt like the skill system, and a lot of other stuff. FF 5 IMO the job system was one of the best mechanics they had in a final fantasy game
@@wildwest1832 Let's also not forget how the dungeons were filled with trap rooms that put you smack dab in the middle of the room with an encounter rate that made the encounter rate of the first Persona look barren.
This is one of the most empowering OST's In the FF series easily

This was the first Final Fantasy I ever played. I miss Firion, Maria, Guy, Leon, Minwu, and even the emperor was fun to fight.
One day I was searching for a bigger version of this song...
And I found this
So i was listening to it for several years and still do so

Those moments you just hang out in Pravoka listening to this...
Such a graceful theme for a just war.
Just beat FFII, it was a journey and I appreciate the story it told for its time. Plus, the sound tracks are OG

The Dissidia one is the 8-bit version, I think.
You will!. Believe in yourself.!
Cloudy Elf Final Fantasy: Dawn of Souls for the GBA. Or emulate it on FCEUX/Virtual Boy Advance.
Game was ridiculously easy when I discovered I could level my stats by beating my own party members senseless XD
Thanks for the extension!
"Wild Roses" :v

Best ost in whole FF2. Only rival is final boss theme.

Mackalillan thx again , still listen it xD
Xodahs ShadoxLunik and again...maybe forever ? x)
I wish they used this theme in FF 6 actually it would have fit the rebels so well.
Am I the only one who enjoys the crap out of Final Fantasy 2!?
No, i enjoy the weird mechanics too.
I also enjoyed it. What I used to do was have all 3 saved files, and each of em had battles with each versions of The Emperor.
