MAGNIFICENT!! What a pleasure to see the original Minis, Well done that man on the meticulous restoration and pride of ownership. A fitting tribute to one of the best films ever made🕴🕴🕴🕴🕴🕴🕴🇮🇹🇬🇧🧨🚥🚦🚌🚙🚗 The presenter was first class too.
My favourite car video on RUclips... These cars are legendary, but so we’re the rumours around Morpeth & stannington that they were in a private collection nearby. My dad’s the biggest Italian job fan I know, When I was a kid he introduced me to Michael Deely and we even took on a ‘63 MK1 Cooper S project. But I’m over the moon to hear that they’re still about and that the current owner would never sell them on.. I find that heartening. Maybe one day we’ll be lucky enough to see them in person, But it’s just fantastic that the owner gets it.. What they are and what they’re all about.
@@The12thDimension. I guarantee they aren't the original cars. They are replica's Morton made and he bought the number plates from the DVLA...the real cars were F plates and all were killed by BMC.
I was 8 years old when this first came out, it was a BIG night out at the drive in theatre, Dinky toys made a set of minis and a car carrier and I desperately wanted it but my Dad was too tight to buy anything like that.
My dad had a mini in the 60s taught me to drive in it on a a disused airfields runway - thought I'd put it in the garage for him pressed the accelerator instead Of the brake car went through the back of the garage - wasn't blessed pleased with me !! Car was OK but garage wasn't shows how good they were made
Nice however He needs the E Type and the Aston, and the 1964 Bedford Val which was also used in the film, also correct if I am wrong, but I thought it was only 3 Minis that wore used for the Getaway vehicles not ( 14 ) ?
On its introduction in August 1959, the Mini was marketed under the Austin and Morris names, as the Austin Seven and Morris Mini-Minor. The Austin Seven was renamed Austin Mini in January 1962 and Mini became a marque in its own right in 1969.
These are great tributes to the Minis from the movie. They are NOT the original cars ! Building cars from log books using other period shells is also illegal. Much like a large number of the “ex works” cars that have mysteriously reappeared over the last few decades, farcical. I read somewhere that he bought those registration numbers at auction from the DVLA as they weren’t real at the time of filming , hardly original. Good luck to him though . If the lie gets perpetuated enough , it’ll become a truth...... Oh and sticking a Speedwell badge on the rocker cover doesn’t constitute “tuning by the original company” , the same company that ceased to trade in the mid ‘70’s 🤔
there maybe a lot wrong with these cars as you say but speedwell lives on, albeit in the USA, www.speedwellengineering.com/ they are connected to the original company in London, check the history on their website, of course whether or not they had anything to do with the rebuild is another matter
also the registrations may not have been real at the time but if you look at the original movie clips they are clearly the registrations that you see on the 3 cars in the getaway scene
Dear Cars That Rock,Why are you are promoting these fake cars as the real deal? The reg numbers weren't real and were only issued by the DVLA in recent years and Morton bought them at auction. The original chassis numbers of the 21 cars supplied by BMC and none are Mortons cars.On top there were lots of used Mini's dressed up as Cooper S's.You should issue an apology for broadcasting this lie.
Firstly, they weren't all Coopers. They were just basic "dressed up" minis. Secondly, there were LOADS more that 14. I have heard that there were 30 or more - Some, just like the empty body shells that were pushed out of the bus. Also, they had to PAY for every one. Agnelli offered them as many Fiats as they wanted - for nothing - hence the movie being shot in Turin but they insisted on using the mini - AND Noel Coward!
If you bothered to check the Italian Job website it will clarify that in fact they were all coopers but the ones pushed down the hill were basic minis.
There NOT the cars from the film it’s a massive con, the original cars where all scrapped, so there new body shells, engine late running gear the whole lot never appeared in the film, god knows how he got away with using the original reg’s
even the original overalls - now that's dedication to authenticity.
Damn, these videos are about 40 minutes too short. I could watch Brian geek out about cars for hours

David Morton has the highest respect I can give

Brian is a true, Gentleman!
Everyone should own a Mini, I own three, my favourite is a 1992 Italian Job Special edition.
Agree
I own a mini 1275 lol and I love it 👍
I haven't lived in the UK for many years. Did they make an Italian Job special edition? I want one.
it broke my heart when they went over the cliff . now i know they are ok .
These are replica's.All the cars used in the film are dead.
@@mholiday no there not, these three are from the actual film. That's the whole point of the video
@@The12thDimension. I guarantee they aren't the original cars. They are replica's Morton made and he bought the number plates from the DVLA...the real cars were F plates and all were killed by BMC.
@@The12thDimension. he does explain that he bought a box of bits
@@mholiday what did he actually buy for £20k at auction then ?
Broke the golden rule of The Italian Job, the Minis are only allowed to travel in the order red, white and blue.
RacingSnakeV8 totally agree
Say that to the remake, they go any order they feel like. Its bloody annoying
@@The12thDimension. We don't talk about the remake.
I love these shows you do Brian and the cars are so beautiful
Wealth is not always measured in gold but in the possessions we cherish. The Mini IS a British Icon not just an automobile.
Only one word comes to mind. Fantastic! Fantastic! Fantastic!
I was 8 years old when this first came out, it was a BIG night out at the drive in theatre, Dinky toys made a set of minis and a car carrier and I desperately wanted it but my Dad was too tight to buy anything like that.
There's nowt this bloke dosent know about these classic minis.. fantastic collection...
All of the AC/DC guys are just cool

Holy crap, isn't this tremendous???

Cooper S Minis are the automotive version of a Jack Russell Terrier.
Inns Ireland great driver
"Her Majesty's Prison" wow.
" Richest man in the world" .......
Of course only if this is the official channel.
This is like owning Christine.

Stunt cars and spares. Watch the end credits of Starsky and Hutch (the film) to see what happens to cars in movies.
How come that white mini 1971 ?
Crackin job
So what parts of these cars are off the film cars ?? I thought he had a box of bits and some number plates ?? Or am I spoiling this ??
Farcical
A Mini and a Giulia Super and you're good to go
So maybe sitting somewhere in Italy in a yard or the bottom of a mountain is the minis themselves....damaged of course .....
I get they’re minis but why does it say Austin on the boot?

They've got about as much connection with the Italian Job Minis as my Ford Fiesta
Would you trust Brian to drive your cars?? Lol
You are the crumple zone. Best wishes.

The minis were cool, but the E-Types were sheer class.
I never liked Aston Martins.
lol, couldn't help but notice the white one has the wrong bonnet badge, its a Morris cooper s not an Austin cooper s

Personally I could not get into the movie, the only part of the movie that was great was the minis being chased.
Shame that they are all fakes, this guy only bought the reg plates from the DVLA in 2006
Fake minis only the number plates
They are all Ringers, the box of parts and vin tags were found and these replicas were fraudulently made!
