Body and soul in Heaven.
The fact of the Assumption is the greatest reminder that all those who have died in Christ are meant to rise with Christ. All of us will get our bodies back and we will rise on the Last Day; some to the Resurrection of Glory and others to the Resurrection of Shame.

Last week, I was going through some kind of test and all that anger was getting in to my head and all I prayed was lord don't let me fall in grace. He brought my normalcy back. And then lo he broke me away from the unhealthy family situation. Assumption of Mary brings so much hope she's so close to us.

I recently became follower of Jesus as Japanese and on the way to be Catholic and receive baptism.
I read bible to know God and pray rosary every morning. After I learning about Catholic faith I found that it is very beautiful and amazing and I accepted mama Mary as my mom.
I'm excited to receive baptism in Catholic Church and become part of Catholic officially.

Herein lies the problem. Mary cannot grant you mercy. God says He is merciful. He is the purveyor of all grace. Nobody else can truly save you or give you grace.

@@YehohananJP Mary is our model of faith, so she can grant us mercy. The point is if we start to argue about faith, the advocate becomes the judge and that leads to a never ending discussion. So let us catholics worship whatever gives us strength, peace and joy. I know for myself from experience that mary can give me those by her mediation.

I am so used to praying for my children. But I think, last year, I started praying for my children and their generations to always be rooted in Him. It’s so important to pray for our generations; I notice the word ‘generations’ is always mentioned in the Bible. God bless you and your children.
Thank you Father, it is so easy to love our Blessed Mother. I think the Christian art depicting her assumption is often the most beautiful. I do think about and pray about heaven often, and live for the day I see Mary and Jesus and all the holy.💖

I dunno that animals don’t have souls. Many love, mourn, show courage, think and solve problems, communicate, and express emotions. Maybe we will find out for sure when we appear for judgment.
They have animal souls but they don't make moral choices like us. We share the emotional plane with them.

I had trouble with this belief until I started thinking of Mary as representation of the church. With this in mind, I find it interesting that Catholics believe that Mary was assumed into heaven at the end of her mission on earth while some Protestants believe that the church will be assumed (raptured) into heaven at the end of her mission on hearth.

Yeah I know this, but I went to adventure the world and find my things,
I do believe in the doctrines of both Immaculate Conception and the Assumption of Mary. Father Mike's message is thought-provoking and worthy of meditation. But I don't honor holy days of obligation.
This is mystery the body and soul of Blessed Virgin Mary raise up in heaven by the Grace , gift , of God the Father in heaven Mary received the Holy Spirit Jesus Christ son of the father in heaven’.

So many christians discouraged they forget to encourage.
Resurrection of the body: this is a good topic for discussion with Jehovah's Witnesses. They are generally unaware of the fact that the Catholic Church has always taught this.

That is a grace for me because it deepens my understanding and love for God the Father. God bless you. I have a question about "getting our bodies back". Will they be without affliction? My sister and I were born with cerebral palsy. Will we carry this with us into eternity? Though it has made me stronger in spirit through suffering, I still wonder what it would be like to be without it and I wish my sister did not have to suffer with it either. She is a thousand times stronger than I.
So, was God’s original plan for all of us to live in harmony forever, body and soul, in the garden? Then, Adam and Eve put an and to it by disobeying?
Pretty much. But then humanity chose sin, corrupting its body and soul.
That’s why one will receive new heavenly bodies, and the soul will be cleansed, because “nothing unclean enters the kingdom of heaven”.
Our Lady was so amazing, that she CHOSE to die because she wanted to be just like Jesus in his death and resurrection. Since she had no sin she did not have to die and then be assumed, she could have ascended just like Jesus. Because she was sinless, the new Eve, she would not have decomposed like all of creation that are sinners. So she CHOSE to die / fall asleep to be raised up by her son in her glorified body and soul, just like her son. Now I understand why she is Co-Redemtrix and Mediatrix of all graces because she was the one who gave her fiat to the word, to Jesus, and always accepted his grace and so always cooperated PERFECTLY to God’s will through her sinless nature. She was so HOLY she chose to die just like her son to follow him completely to heaven to be with him. Her Assumption was going to happen whether she died or not.
Father, can you create a course on this theology, I mean things like how are we supposed to get our bodies back and concepts like that?

So when Jesus died on the cross, The Bible teaches that the dead came up from their graves, right? So, did they get their bodies taken up to heaven? Or did they just go back into the ground?

That's not true. St. Joseph would have been a prayerful person all his life. When he directed his prayers to God the Father, he also prayed to God the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Trinity is always united.

Do you believe in eucharist miracles? Then why would/couldn't God creater of all things do this? We must have faith and believe God can do all things. Wouldn't you want what's best for your mother if she was to pass away? I think at the end of this earthly life if we stay faithful and belive we will be rewarded seeing all that God and our blessed mother promised. Just like her appriations to so many people in this world. There’s just too many ad hoc assumptions, but at the same time, if you are Roman Catholic, you must accept them which is beyond circular. There's not one single verse in the entire Bible that says God GAVE man a soul. It ONLY says that God created man and man BECAME A LIVING SOUL...A "NEPHESH", A LIVING, BREATHING CREATURE.
The Assumption was added to RCC theology by hitler's pope pius VII in 1950. It was not accepted by anyone for almost 2000 years after CHRIST. I love Mary. She is my Christian sister, fellow servant, and fellow saint as are all true believers in CHRIST. CHRIST stopped Mary veneration right at the first as follows: Luke 11:27 KJV "And it came to pass, as He (Jesus) spoke these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto HIM, Blessed is the womb that bare YOU, and the paps which YOU have sucked.
28 But HE said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the WORD of GOD, and keep it."
Mary was a sinner. Keep this in mind: Romans 5:12 KJV "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all mankind, for that all have sinned"
Romans 3:10 KJV "as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 there is none that understands, there is none that seeks after GOD. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that does good, no, not one."
