I've always wanted to spend a nice week or two making ramen from scratch. This a shoyu tonkotsu ramen, with braised chashu, marinated amber yolk eggs, scallions, garlic-scallion-shallot aroma oil, pickled shiitake kombu, and fresh noodles from my favorite ramen shop in NYC.
I used a lot of techniques from extremely passionate and knowledgeable people in the ramen world, such as:

you know you're legendary when you can bounce back after years and still be a fan favourite. found your first slow cooking and vibey video back when i was in high school - i'm a bit older now, and your videos, cinematography, and calm storytelling is part of what inspired me to create my own channel. to create and connect.

Wow. This is beautiful. I have no words to describe how amazing this video is in itself. If anything, this inspire me to cook even more! When I Cook something, I don't just slap ingredients together and hope it becomes into something edible, I take the time to prepare, to give it love and effort. When you look at a plate of food, you don't just think of it as food itself, but a work of art you get to enjoy yourself. Looking forward to your videos, Alvin!

Beautiful. I was legit moved to tears from the music you chose combined with the amazing dedication it takes to make a single bowl of ramen.
It is so satisfying to make ramen because it is a labor of love. Though time consuming, making a large batch of great ramen (taré, aroma oil, noodles, double stock and toppings/ajitama) is certainly worth it when you, family and friends finally get to enjoy a nice' satisfying bowl.
The asthetics, the blend of soft instrumental music and ASMR, camera work, editing and cooking technique make this channel stand out. I appreciate Alvin's approach to presenting his love of food, storytelling and video prodction.

It's so good to see you here! I've been cooking a lot more in the last few years than even the years before that. I'm getting much more detail oriented and learning a lot of new cuisines. I've never heard of your flavored oil, but I do sometimes make my own infused soy sauce using the same ingredients! But half of my cooking is still quite simple college/style dishes. This winter I've been making a lot of Ramen from the international store, but I will usually add a soft boiled egg, green onions, and depending on the fats and flavoring included I might add fried shallots and king oyster mushroom, or coconut milk and cilantro, or something else. These have been really simple, delicious $1 meals that I've been enjoying throughout the cold season and I can't wait to put a little more time and preparation into trying yours!
