Student loan refinancing means swapping your current student loans for a new loan with a lower interest rate. That could save you big money over time. ... You would save money. There is no reason to refinance your loans unless you end up paying less in interest.An interest rate is the amount of interest due per period, as a proportion of the amount lent, deposited, or borrowed. The total interest on an amount lent or borrowed depends on the principal sum, the interest rate, the compounding frequency, and the length of time over which it is lent, deposited, or borrowed. The Federal Reserve set the stage for a series of interest rate increases beginning next spring, completing a major policy pivot that showed much greater concern about the potential for inflation to stay high.
Most central bank officials, in projections released Wednesday at the conclusion of their two-day meeting, penciled in at least three quarter-percentage-point rate increases next year. In September, around half of those officials thought rate increases wouldn’t be warranted until 2023.

Hi. Thanks for your help. I have 3 PP loans. Husband has 2 PP loans. Mine are around $59k and husband is $31k. My son graduated in May he has about 7 small loans totaling $30k. He has an bio engineering degree. Looking for work now. I want to eventually but not sure when and how exactly. Right now I am working on consolidating my loans and husbands in an attempt to do the double consolidation. Not sure what’s going to happen but I am thinking to keep one under my name in fed system and the two consolidated ones to refinance to son in early next year given he will be working and have pay checks.
Can u help provide ur thoughts on my plan above?
Right now we want to consolidate his loans and keep in fed system. Is this the right thing to do? He is not financially savvy at all. So I am trying not to be responsible for those loans. I am 51 and don’t have my own loans but have CC debit around 25k so that I need to pay.
