Saw this on tumblr a while back and now it's showed up on my youtube so I'm commenting to say that I still love this so much. Your character designs are amazing. Love Enj's hair and expression during R's solo, he gives me major Howl from Howl's Moving Castle vibes and I am here for it
I just need to write a long ass comment to tell you how beautiful this is. Your designs for everyone are so Good. They all have so much character, all look so huggable. Your style is so gentle and easy on the eyes, it's like studio Ghibli with victorian/romantic influences. You put so much expressivity into every single frame. Enjolras was gorgeous. The look in his eyes as he listens to Grantaire. His nimble jumping and sliding down the barricade, and then reaching gracefully for R...and R shying away at first, and then the hug...oh the hug. I cried. I didn't see that coming. Joly is very pretty, he looks like That One Character i would be totally obsessed with in an anime. Courfeyrac is lovely too, I liked the little eyelashes you drew on him - such a tiny detail that makes such a large difference. I was really reminded of his Brick!descriptions where he is compared to a cat. I also loved how you animated Enjolras' bouncy/floaty hair. Also the Brick reference with that old woman watching at the window!! I caught that!! Marius' design was just SO canon, and that shot of him looking out at Paris in the sunrise was so detailed, so peaceful, and so WARM. Absolutely incredible on every level. You've made my day with this video i have already watched it 3 times. Cosette is lovely too, so so canon. Everyone is so canon. But you put a beautiful original spin on it. The opening sequence showing Paris, slowly traveling its perspective downwards, reminded me of the opening scene of Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame! And then the shots of the cathedral, both from the outside and the inside, reminded me even more. I wonder if that was intentional? Anyways i love Victor Hugos works, i love the musicals, and I love this video. I can't tell you enough how much I love it. I hope this long ass comment isn't weird. You're incredible, thank you for your hard work and stunning skill.
