I don't understand the part at 4:36 for comparative sentences:
What is the difference between: 杰克比玛丽多一个苹果。 and 杰克比玛丽还多一个苹果。
The translation says "Jack has one more apple than Mary" vs "Jack has one more apple than Mary does" but these two sentences sound the same to me in English, it feels like both are comparing the quantitative amount of apples between them. So what does 还 add here in terms of the meaning?

Let's assume: Jack and Mary are brother and sister, but the family loves Jack more. So no matter what, Jack always gets a bit more than Mary. At this time, we may express an emotion that the family treats Mary unfairly: 'Come on, Dad, Jack's got one more apple than Mary'(爸爸偏爱杰克,你看他们分到的水果,杰克比玛丽还多一个苹果!-Bàba piān'ài jiékè, nǐ kàn tāmen fēn dào de shuǐguǒ, jiékè bǐ mǎlì hái duō yīgè píngguǒ!). So, the sentence involves a comparative structure(比), emphasizing the extra portion(还多), and reflects the speaker's emotional tone regarding the perceived unfair treatment of Mary by the family. Hope my explanation is clear this time! Thank you for asking!
