Gangtok's Mall Road is where the town comes alive! Grab a coffee at a trendy bakery, browse through the books at a pop-up store, or simply watch life go by. Unlike the ubiquitous mall roads in every hill town, Gangtok's Mall Road is modern, incredibly well planned and very clean.
M G Marg
Mahatma Gandhi Marg is the main pedestrian road located in the downtown Gangtok, Sikkim. As of 2015, Mahatma Gandhi Marg is the only road in Gangtok which has divided carriageway.
MG Market, as the name suggests, is on MG Marg, in the central area of Gangtok. It is closed on Thursdays. Government Handloom and Handicraft Emporium in M.G. Marg are good to buy stuffs like masks, Buddhist prayer wheels, silk “tankha” paintings and carpets.
