  • Blurred vision after age 60 could be age-related macular degeneration, which is a deterioration to the macula, the part of the retina that controls sharp, straight-ahead vision.
Diego Espinosa-Heidmann, MD, professor of clinical ophthalmology for the Medical College of Georgia and the Director of the Vitreo-Retinal Service for the Department of Ophthalmology at Wellstar MCG Health, explains how age, smoking and genetics play a part in a common eye disease that blurs people’s central vision, and is often controlled through a special blend of vitamins.
