I've been waiting for a steam trains galore that has union pacific 4014 I thought it whold be in steam trains galore 12 but thanks for putting 4014 in this I love it and I love the old steam trains :D
As someone from the santa Maria valley it makes me so happy to see a piece of our history not only living and thriving, but getting so much attention!! Heres to hoping Astoria finishes our old 21 soon.

You'll often see photos of Walt Disney in the cab because he and the railroad's owner were very close. Its in Astoria Oregon now

Mike I am gonna be honest, when I was a kid I was only a diesel fan lol! I wasn't really into steam for whatever reason when I was a kid! However thanks to a cool book I own, I grew to LOVE steam just as much if not more then diesels! Another great video man! I think I was cheering at all the great clips you shot here haha! Great video as usual! :)
The whistle 4014 on her trip to Denver and back which 844 had worn for over a decade is in fact her original whistle she wore in service back in the 40s. Ed somehow found it and we've been hearing 4014 sing out ever since. That whistle is much more befitting a big boy, it has WAY more of a roar to it. The new old stock whistle 4014 wears now isn't bad, but it's a bit more mellow in its tones.

It's kind of weird for the big boy to have 844s whistle but I liked the whistle it had when they started using it for the spike 150 anniversary
The current whistle is apparently the one 4014 used when in service, which is kind of neat. I like the other whistle too.
