They just installed the Autocall version at the office building my therapist works at! It's replacing a Silent Knight IFP-100 panel installed in 2011, which in turn replaced a Kidde-Thorn panel from the 1980s. Aside from an addressable TrueAlarm detector replacing the Silent Knight detector near the panel, nothing else with the system was changed (mostly Wheelock MT-24-LSM horn/strobes along with a random Wheelock NS and a few Exceders, System Sensor i3 smoke detectors, and Edwards/AIP 270-SPO pulls and at least one replacement Fire-Lite BG-12).
If I was simplex I would make a revision of this panel to have front panel program as default and have pass codes like the 4010 and 4005. And make retrofit kits like for 4002 (where you can retro fit a 4005 in to a 4002). I honestly think this panel has so much potential. I think the only thing pushing it back because the panel is property. You have to call a simplex technician to make any changes to the panel. The 4010es can get away with that since I think it’s more of a successor to the simplex 4020 (and that panel was also proprietary) then the legacy 4010. And the 4100es can also get away from this because nobody will program though the panel (it will take a very long time to program the entire system if it had FPP. People would use the software instead).
Personally I prefer the appearance/ functionality/ UI of the 4004/4005/4006/4008/4010 over the newer style ES series, but it is still cool nonetheless to see more of them popping up.
I agree. Especially on this model, although it's exceptionally cool, I'm not sure of how effective the whole touchscreen idea is once put into actual use. As for the 4010ES/4100ES panels, I don't understand the purpose of all the individual Acknowledge buttons. It seems like one global ACK button has worked for a long time, why add more?
Nice unit! I know how rare these things are, and despite a huge Simplex presence in my area, I've still yet to see one out in a building myself, because I normally see the ES addressable NA's or systems in some kind of large building with a 4100ES. My area has a lot of older Simplex equipment too, so that could be why.
So far the only Simplex 4007ES I've seen in the field was at the Art Center at my friend's university, replacing a Simplex 4002 panel from the early 90s. They have Simplex 4906-9127 TrueAlert horn/strobes slapped onto 4050-80 light plates (before the 4002 they had a Simplex 4208 system using 4051 horns on the light plates; the original 4208 cabinet is still there and used for terminal wiring), along with an addressable TrueAlarm C/O detector in the remodeled boiler room, 2098-9201 photoelectric smoke detectors and break-glass 4251-30 pulls. The other Simplex systems on the campus are mostly in the 4100 series, along with a couple of 4020s and a 4010.
Have you managed to get the ES Programming software, to my knowledge you have to go through a training course, then you can buy a physical software key(USB or printer port dongle) and the software? Correct me if I'm wrong as I'd like to be able to do some more advanced stuff with my 4010, which I believe is also compatible with the software
Hi sir, may I ask for help how to reset this panel? I don't know the password set by the technician during installation, does this panel simplex 4007 have default password? Thanks
Next generation is probably going to allow you to talk to the panel. So when you say alarm acknowledge, alarm silences and system reset it will do it automatically LOL
stampycatfan01 I have to get the thing programmed first, so it might be a while before I can do anything with it. I still haven't decided what to do with it permanently yet. The SXL-EX is great for my main system because I can run any type of horn I want, whereas I would be more limited with a newer panel like the 4007ES.
I mainly buy and resell fire alarm equipment, but occasionally hold onto interesting items when I come across them. While the main flow of items is for business, I do enjoy the items I hold onto. I'm an electrical engineering major, so the technology inside of these units interests me.

Cool! I'm getting a Siemens UMMT AR agent release alarm today!
And it will be a RUclips first!
Nice!
It came and in so happy!
Cool man! Love this panel! Great video! Maybe I will consider getting one!
Thanks! There's actually one for sale on eBay currently, but its $1,500.
Awesome!!

kcin556 your welcome
How much did that panel cost? I'd love to get one

Does the 4007ES poll devices on IDNet or MAPNET protocol?
The 4007ES is equipped with IDNET for the SLC. The versions with addressable NACs use also use a different IDNAC protocol on the NAC.

None of simplex ES panels have front panel PROGRAMMING!

Is this panel replacing your Siemens panel?
Not at this time. My regular system will continue to feature the Siemens SXL-EX heading into the future.
kcin556 oh. So I'm assuming that this basically means you are making a mini system for it like you did with your fire suppression system, right?
stampycatfan01 I have to get the thing programmed first, so it might be a while before I can do anything with it. I still haven't decided what to do with it permanently yet. kcin556 oh ok. Hopefully there will at least be a demo system once it's programmed and ready to go.
Just wondering you call this mine you collect panels or what?
Correct, I collect various types of fire protection and life safety equipment including panels such as this.
For your personal enjoyment?

kcin556 how long have these panels been out?
A few years, I think. Since 2014 or 2015 maybe? Not sure of the actual release date.
kcin556 oh wow I thought they just came out, that explains why I saw one installed in a newer building the other day.
Although it's been available for a while, it seems to be just now "catching on" and being installed more frequently in the past few months.
