Dr. Pyne makes the point about how maps of fire regimes look similar to climate and geologic maps when viewed on the scale of continents. Maps are so powerful at giving us perspective on processes, it would be fun if you could interview a cartographer/geographer about maps that help scientists see/study/predict links between geologic/biologic/industrial/climate/fire phenomena etc. Just an idea, in case your agenda isn't full enough :)
Dr. Pyne was a wonderful guest!! I like how he explained how fire essentially help to change our body structure. We definitely would not have the intelligence we do without being able to detoxify and increase calorie intake with respects to our food. ❤❤❤
If fires require life for fuel, I wonder if we can detect extraterrestrial life by searching for signs of fire. Another thought-provoking video. Thanks, Dr. Phillips!
So my hopeful take away is that fire management (and all that implies) should be among the infrastructure investments we make at the local, state and federal level just like roads and bridges. This migh already be the case in some areas but it's probably not well integrated across different regions and it probably does not have the research funding it deserves.
@@GEOGIRL Yes. Conferences are a lot of fun. You get to network. See all sorts of people. Have dinners. Bounce around like a ping pong ball. Don't know who to do what with.
"What we really want to know is..." when we will burn-up due to climate collapse from global heating. According to C3S, we hit 6 degC above 1991-2020 baseline by 2050, then everything will be burning.
Go check out the other interview I did with Fire Expert, Dr. Rebecca Flitcroft, on @GEOGIRL ruclips.net/video/4iVEtIS_h-g/видео.html ! 🌎🌍🌏😁

Excellent video thanks to you and Dr Pyne
Thank you!! Loved getting to talk with him and Becky 😃
@@GEOGIRL Wish you could put a pic/link on your youtube page that links to this GSA site. I think these videos would get more traffic.

Eye opening video on the importance of energy balance in our ecosystem. Thanks
Great interview! Fire is definitely in my DNA. Thank you for recommending this channel.
I like the interview/discussions you've posted and I hope you continue with them. Also , you forgot to wave.
I know as I was editing it I knew something was missing! I won't forget next time ;)
