Solved: Strange sound on my 2008 Porsche Cayenne Turbo. Its the PDCC pump

UPDATE: its the sound of the PDCC pump, apparently this is a normal sound. Most PDCC pumps on the cayennes make this noise, on mine it quiets down after you drive for a bit, presumably once the fluid and pump are hot it quiets down a bit.
84K miles, one DTC code active: P2181
The sound is loudest when RPM is low, and seems to increase in frequency at the same rate as the RPM.
While driving at 20+ MPH you cant hear the noise.

I have the same noice, and several other has the same sound. But i understatand it that it's not a problem

Every one I have seen from 2007 onwards is the same. Changing the pump out and the reservoir and the fluid makes a difference for a while then it came back. The pump is unique it runs steering and the pdcc but neither fluid mixes. It has 2 chambers , 2 reservoirs and 2 differing outputs I imagine. Anyway…. It’s noisy. I now put up with mine. I’d love to know if there is an updated part tho. Mine was last changed in 2019. It’s noisy. PDCC is great. The noise is not.
