Great choices! I had the AK JR for 2 yrs..my first hi rez DAP.....value is remarkable, sound was stellar.....worth every penny $150-200 used!!! I sold it, upgraded to the same FiiO M11....as u noted the M11 sounds great...dual DACs, dual opamps can drive most demanding IEMs/headphones, lot blacker background, gets cleaner w balanced cables, navigating thru Android and fast CPU w plenty of memory and expansion slots?...what was there NOT to like?? Well my go to IEMS r the P1 and Shuoer Tapes....M11 had the power to drive P1, which loves higher volumes, but like u....i like the tube sound ....BGGAR rec'd pairing the M11 with the Oriolus BA300s tube amp..yeah not cheap, but it gives more oooomph to the M11, +3db worth, fuller, tad deeper bass too....I rec it for pairing w your M11 u will have no regrets other than its lousy 4-6 hr battery life, but since i listen every night, then charge it daily, no big deal, well worth that inconvenience. Like all tube amps it can run a bit warm. Always wanted to get the Darkvoice amp, still do....have the Schitt Magni 3....like it, but not wowed by it. Read reviews on Thieaudio Phantom planars, want them....but seems they need mods to sound their best, did u do any mods or r u ok w stock sound? Seems reviewers and owners have pleaded w Thieaudio to make these fixes, was rumored they might, but no VERSION 2 forthcoming, that sux, because at $349, i believe they have great value if they fixed the probs! FYI if u did not already have or try....try single crystal copper 24-26awg balanced cables! I was...a believer cables were vanity, maybe less resistance offered a bit more volume....but they do....sound....better...w the right rig...the right IEMs....paired w P1...w BA300s + M11...better eartips...People talk about END GAME rigs....this is mine...sure i swap in/out other IEMs, amps, ....just to change things up...but i still gravitate bk to this end game rig most of the time. Yes I modded the Theaudio's and I have video about done for that :). BTW the AK junior I bought new. Guess cause its a few years old you can get them new all over the place for that price range.

What i would like to see more reviewers delve into is where to find FREE hi rez downloads, is there really doffs in the diff type of hi rez files or even between CD vs 24/192? In audible sound quality? Seems a few people r happy ripping CDs to files. Kinda wondering when u step up to better gear do hi rez file types matter, or is it placebo? Any recommendations on where best to listen to streaming hi rez besides Tidal Premium or where best prices to buy hi rez files to download are. Reason i ask....both AK Jr and M11 sound great w the handful of hi rez files i had loaded on them....but honestly wonder if they would have sounded just as good as CD ripped files? I have a massive CD collection, and have contemplated ripping them to files onto memory cards for the M11
The Fiio x5 3rd gen I have is still frozen in the same place after I had some software issues and did a factory reset. A year later after passing on a M11 I went with the AK 100ii, the AK 15 had just been released now that the AK25 is out the 399 asking price might drop again. The M11 bluetooth is the biggest difference to look at the AK100ii has Bluetooth I rarely if ever use it though.

bit late to tell you but it doesnt have 64GB of ram. it probably has something like 2GB of ram. Similar to smart phones. RAM doesnt store data it is just used as space for the OS to run. By the way i owned a FIIO. It was buggy, it had awful branding. For example when turned on it displayed the message "welcome". As if its not your player and you need to be welcomed to it. The thing stopped working after a few months and their customer service is based in China you have to pay for all postage. What i said had no value to them. Its not about pleasing the customer its about you pleasing them. They said they will not commit to anything until the device is sent to their base in China and they decide in their view there is a fault. That didnt sound reassuring because paying money to send it there and back for nothing is a waste of time. I sold it immediately and i dont trust these chinese companies. Sorry i gave them a chance.
