Straight up, i'm white, i'm Christian and I love this man, He is one of my heroes! I love RUclips as well because I get the opportunity to hear his sermons now. Thank you to any and everyone who post his messages! I had on my T-Shirt today with a large picture of him on the front that says Let Freedom Ring. I was in a guitar store and a gentleman said "oh, oh sir, your T-Shirt... can I please take a picture of it?" I said you sure can. He said I'm a artist and I need that picture. I want to draw it. He showed me pictures of some of his drawings on his phone and just like my hero Dr. King, he's very, very talented at communication. His drawings were so good and they were of people, and they came to life. I hope you are as appauled by the phone call in this sermon and the way Dr. Kings life was ended as I am. And let me say, if you told me I could only own one teaching by Jesus, it would be the parable of the good Samaritan that Luke recorded in Luke 10:25-37. If we don't have this love in our hearts, then we don't love Jesus and we don't know Him. This is still one of the greatest sermons I have ever heard. Please listen to it. Open your heart and be patient with it. This sermon is only 26 minutes long and if you want to jump to the phone call then go directly to 17 minutes and 45 seconds into the video and listen until for 5 minutes.

I think so. And often, prophets do not realize they are messengers of the Creator. A light in a world of darkness. Sadly, injustice still is out there. This is why struggles such as Black Lives Matter are still needed. Sadly, the job is NOT done. Until everyone's lives are respected equally, such struggles will be needed. And until mass incarceration and other injustices end, still needed. I did not believe the latter was a real problem until I spent some time in jail recently and saw it first hand. Very real. They are using prisoners for their own gain. Sad ....
Dr King taught me to humble,he awaken my conscience and gave me a sense of values...I will emulate his characters.. even though his life was cut short his teachings Will still remain alive and will be passed on from one generation to another.. RIP King
I enjoyed this confession of a real man. Not a superman. This message was letting us know that he also has feelings and vulnerable at times to fear and weakness. Sometimes as a leader, when we have no one to turn to, we need to turn to the divine. God is the only one capable of working some good out of chaos. I sure don't have the answers. Dr.King was a true man of God that every word he spoke made your soul cry out for justice, and with them words gave people the courage to call on thier God to make that change. Something that only a man of God can do because the The Lord sent him to do it! Amen! We all need to find that courage within us now.
Dr. King is reminding us that Jesus’ teachings were truly radical. The Gospel of Luke especially calls for justice for the poor and oppressed, and it criticizes greed and the pursuit of wealth. I wish more modern day Christians would hear this message! God bless you all.

Hi remember Dr. King as one who guided us all but especially his people through some very, very hate filled days. As a young guy I used to think if I could grow up with one ounce of Dr. King's courage I would be alright.
He lived in a time of horrible hatred. And sadly, the hate is still there and he is not. Wonder what kind of world he would have built with his Blessed Community had he lived?

He put to much into man and forgot about his "Creator" who made it possible for him to have the riches he had! "Selfish" only thinking about his "Riches" and impressing "Man"! I grew up in the southern part of California during the 80's and 90's. I have seen violence, been a victim of it. I still pray for those people who have hurt me, even though I don't even know their names. If God allows me or my family to be a victim of some kind of attack, I pray he might forgive me for what I might do... But if someone wanted to kill me simply because I believe Jesus is God? I might have to accept death. God's forgiveness transcends any silly idea about "race" -- According to the bible, we're all related anyway. The ugly truth is, we're distant cousins. The beautiful truth is, Jesus is our kinsman redeemer. Why is he our *kinsman* redeemer? Because God became flesh. We're related to Jesus, and thus have a "claim to the throne" as it were. We have salvation through Jesus, because the bible is literally true. I though about posting this for a while now, especially with all that is going on in the world today, but... I don't know how many are going to listen to me anyway. Why do I even bother? So I'll stop ranting. Anyway, from the bottom of my heart, I love you all just the same as my immediate family. Just got home from visiting Alabama for the first time,,, family reunion members took me to Dexter Avenue Baptist Church,, To sit in the original pews,, and was also with respect was able to stand near around the pulpit that Dr King installed, and to see the pastor office was unreal and extraordinary, . Was also asked to say closing prayer in same sanctuary,, I am just so moved,,,speechless My zeal as a minister, the importance of my life has been forever changed, I am at a lost for words, right now by Gods spirit, love u in Christ, Respectfully Min Jones

Usually during Martin Luther King's Birthday the nation revisits his "I Have a Dream" speech. Sometimes people forget he was a Baptist preacher. This sermon is wonderful. And I hope you will share it with others and comment on it yourself. For those who toil in the vineyard it is inspiring and uplifting.

No man has ever had such an influence and affect on me as much as MLK. This is truly an angel of God in human flesh. A man way ahead of his time. I think if Christ Himself came down from Heaven in MLK's time He would have sought him out first. I didn't serve my country during wartime to see us divided but united. I am grateful for the wisdom this man has given me and many other Americans of all colors. If we can get past the propaganda our politicians are feeding us, if we can take back Washington from the snakes who no longer represent us, if we can talk to each other, if we can just help each other in the smallest way and work up to saving each other we will be the most diverse, most loved, most charitable and most powerful nation on Earth. Straight up, i'm white, i'm Christian and I love this man, He is one of my heroes! I love RUclips as well because I get the opportunity to hear his sermons now. Thank you to any and everyone who post his messages! I had on my T-Shirt today with a large picture of him on the front that says Let Freedom Ring. I was in a guitar store and a gentleman said "oh, oh sir, your T-Shirt... can I please take a picture of it?" I said you sure can. He said I'm a artist and I need that picture. I want to draw it. He showed me pictures of some of his drawings on his phone and just like my hero Dr. King, he's very, very talented at communication. His drawings were so good and they were of people, and they came to life. I hope you are as appauled by the phone call in this sermon and the way Dr. Kings life was ended as I am. And let me say, if you told me I could only own one teaching by Jesus, it would be the parable of the good Samaritan that Luke recorded in Luke 10:25-37. If we don't have this love in our hearts, then we don't love Jesus and we don't know Him. This is still one of the greatest sermons I have ever heard. Please listen to it. Open your heart and be patient with it. This sermon is only 26 minutes long and if you want to jump to the phone call then go directly to 17 minutes and 45 seconds into the video and listen until for 5 minutes.

I think so. And often, prophets do not realize they are messengers of the Creator. A light in a world of darkness. Sadly, injustice still is out there. This is why struggles such as Black Lives Matter are still needed. Sadly, the job is NOT done. Until everyone's lives are respected equally, such struggles will be needed. And until mass incarceration and other injustices end, still needed. I did not believe the latter was a real problem until I spent some time in jail recently and saw it first hand. Very real. They are using prisoners for their own gain. Sad ....

We all need to find that courage within us now.
Dr. King is reminding us that Jesus’ teachings were truly radical. The Gospel of Luke especially calls for justice for the poor and oppressed, and it criticizes greed and the pursuit of wealth. I wish more modern day Christians would hear this message! God bless you all.

Knowing that all my service to God is going to change the World yet not exactly knowing the steps which will get me to that point. All I can do is simply walk by my Faith and not my sight. I love God, and thank God for people like King. He makes many great points, and always from the position of nonviolence, which I absolutely agree with. Violence is never the answer, and should never be a question.

Jennifer Alford you're right, name calling wasn't necessary, I just hate the fact that he cause us to stand still and be murdered when we should have been fighting. Peaceful protests got him killed. I love him as my brother and it took alot if courage but he didn't want to be independent from him oppressor he wanted to be apart of his oppressor. Wrong idea!!
I grew up in the southern part of California during the 80's and 90's. I have seen violence, been a victim of it. I still pray for those people who have hurt me, even though I don't even know their names. If God allows me or my family to be a victim of some kind of attack, I pray he might forgive me for what I might do... But if someone wanted to kill me simply because I believe Jesus is God? I might have to accept death.
God's forgiveness transcends any silly idea about "race" -- According to the bible, we're all related anyway. The ugly truth is, we're distant cousins. The beautiful truth is, Jesus is our kinsman redeemer. Why is he our *kinsman* redeemer? Because God became flesh. We're related to Jesus, and thus have a "claim to the throne" as it were. We have salvation through Jesus, because the bible is literally true.
I though about posting this for a while now, especially with all that is going on in the world today, but... I don't know how many are going to listen to me anyway. Why do I even bother? So I'll stop ranting.

Just got home from visiting Alabama for the first time,,, family reunion members took me to Dexter Avenue Baptist Church,,
To sit in the original pews,, and was also with respect was able to stand near around the pulpit that Dr King installed, and to see the pastor office was unreal and extraordinary, .
Was also asked to say closing prayer in same sanctuary,, I am just so moved,,,speechless
My zeal as a minister, the importance of my life has been forever changed,

Usually during Martin Luther King's Birthday the nation revisits his "I Have a Dream" speech. Sometimes people forget he was a Baptist preacher. This sermon is wonderful. And I hope you will share it with others and comment on it yourself. For those who toil in the vineyard it is inspiring and uplifting.

No man has ever had such an influence and affect on me as much as MLK. This is truly an angel of God in human flesh. A man way ahead of his time. I think if Christ Himself came down from Heaven in MLK's time He would have sought him out first.
I didn't serve my country during wartime to see us divided but united. I am grateful for the wisdom this man has given me and many other Americans of all colors. If we can get past the propaganda our politicians are feeding us, if we can take back Washington from the snakes who no longer represent us, if we can talk to each other, if we can just help each other in the smallest way and work up to saving each other we will be the most diverse, most loved, most charitable and most powerful nation on Earth. God's blessings to all my American brothers and sisters.
