  • I remember first hearing this song in 2010 and being blown away by how technical and heavy it was. Within a few seconds of starting, Lucas was playing runs that I couldn't even fathom. Though I haven't kept up with the band in recent years, I still really enjoy this album and consider it a favourite.
    Here's my attempt at 'Seized and Devoured' by Rings of Saturn, taken off their debut album 'Embryonic Anomaly'. I believe I played what's on the album, except for the sections at 1:38 and 2:20, where, instead of following the guitar chords, I figured out a bass part that I would play-one which more closely follows the drums, while still using the root notes of the aforementioned chords. Enjoy!

    I love how skilled you are without being arrogant, its satisfying to see how much you enjoy what you do, and I know is time consuming to make so complex tabs (not to mention, perfoming them), and you share them with everyone, so thank you so much, everything you do is so much apreciated, you have a fan in México, hope everything goes fantastic with you and your wife. Stay tech! lml

    This is incredible, insane actually, i feel like i can only correctly hear the bass in RoS songs on their new album Gidim, its simply amazing how heavy and technical it is and better, you can hear it perfectly!! Please do more RoS covers i beg you, you my friend made me want a 5 or 6 string bass, my 4 string cant play all of this stuff, keep up the good work man, keep up.

      Thanks man, means a lot! I was toying with the idea of covering something off Gidim or another off Embryonic Anomaly. I'll keep thinking about it :)

      The bass is most noticeable on embryonic anomaly, and dingir if you have nice speakers.

      Thanks dude! I learned most of the latter a while back but would probably opt for the former now. That super random, non-repeating part starting at 0:45 of Cc totally put me off doing it. It'd take so much effort memorizing it that it's just not worth it atm. Plus new IA is fire. Defs more IA in the future!

      @@appeasedbeast408 Agreed! Few things get me more excited than official tabs from a sick band. And yeah same, some of the shit's just so crazy that I'm not quite sure what they're doing and don't really have the patience or confidence to try to figure it out haha. I had also considered Feast ov Goreglutton since it's short and sweet, but idk.

    Amazing work man, would love to get the tabs for this, i really wish Rings would release some bass tab books,
    i'm sure they would sell pretty well, Would love to see you do a cover of Abducted by them, always wanted to try those Bass Sweeps in the bridge :) also any specific reason you're not really a fan of their newer stuff?

    • @LindenPoirier
      @LindenPoirier  5 лет назад +2

      Thanks man! I had thought about doing that one a while back, would consider it if this one ends up getting decent views :)
      My main problem is the songwriting though. It's not bad or anything, just feel like their debut best fits the aliencore aesthetic they've strived toward. I feel it's become more human through each subsequent release. Not a bad thing though, just personal preference.

    • @LindenPoirier
      @LindenPoirier  5 лет назад +2

      Btw just sent the tabs through, cheers!

    • @mackaus1
      @mackaus1 5 лет назад +2

      I see what you mean with each of their releases becoming more human.
      i think a big reason for it was the criticism that was directed at the band early during their career that the music sounded fake or half-speed and all that BS, also the drums sound really programmed on their second album Dingir almost, unnaturally so, which i think was their intention, so don't really see what people complain about haha
      Also seeing as all of their albums are part of an ongoing saga/concept. i think the evolution of their sound
      makes alot of sense
      Embryonic Anomaly was the band at their rawest, the start of an alien invasion of Earth
      Dingir saw the band evolved, with the continued concept that the aliens had conquered earth and were busy slaughtering the lot of us
      Lugal Ki En, was yet another evolution, with the band starting to use 8-string guitars, and the aliens now trying to conquer the realm of angels/demons, i think this album has a more spacey/atmospheric sound than the previous album, especially on the closing track the Heavens Have Fallen.
      Ultu Ulla, is basically about the aliens transcending time and Space, and discovering a relic that threatens the fabric of existence. I really think Miles Baker contributed alot to this album, such a shame they lost him and Aaron IMO.
      on Their upcoming album Gidim Lucas is going to use 9-string Guitars, the concept here basically is about the aliens conquering the entire universe and setting off a new big bang. It will be interesting to see were they are taking the alien concept in the future
      Sorry for rabbling on abit there haha
      Thanks again for the bass tabs :)
