@@brianblank9921 haha for sure. My dad was a big ole guy. Reminded me alot of Chris farley. And we would always go quad riding and for some reason my dad would always wear coats to small and by the time he was a 12 pack deep he was dancing in the mud saying big guy in a little coat and just rip it open or something silly lmao. He'd never let me forget that movie. Sadly he's passed but it brings back memories🥰

This project brings back memories. Back in the early 80's me and a friend did the same thing to his dads Dodge Diplomat after the 318 threw a connecting rod. We put a 440 that had a mild build in it. He was expecting a 360 I had in a wrecked Ramcharger. We didn't tell his dad we decided to put a 440 in it. Believe one too many cold ones had something to do with that decision. His dad was pissed when we told him what we put in that car until his dad fired that Diplomat up. The smile on his dads face I'll remember forever. He done a little hotrodding back in his younger days. His dad carpooled and his buddies had a blast when it was WD's week to drive. Ole WD was a hoot of ole man and he got a little younger that day. Love seeing these old cars fixed up and kept on the road. Man I miss those days when you could pick up a 60 or70 model car or truck and build a beast for cheap. Sell it and do it all over again. Keep these great vids coming y'all!

Nothing goes as planned. You make us all feel better by being a normal human being Paul. I did a motor swap last year and crushed my transmission pump with the torque converter during the install, I felt like a dope, had to pull the tranny and rebuilt it while I was in there, good thing because the planetary gear was loose as a goose, then when I installed it it had no reverse, turns out I compressed the teflon rings on the input shaft too much with my homemade clamp and sleeve tool, so had to pull the trans and yank the pump (I finally sprang for the $40 sizing tool that I was too cheap to buy the first time) and redo the rings. The struggle is real folks, and Paul just doesn't edit it out

Awesome job Paul!! I absolutely love it when you always are able to find some how to make something work with what you have on hand!! Lots of people don’t do that these days they just end up going and buying the Wright parts instead of just making it work with what they have!!! Your way is the same way I like to do things also!! Heck it usually ends up saving you money and you can get things done faster usually instead of weighting on parts!!! I keep say we love doing the same things in life!!! Well remember keep up all the hard work buddy!!!! I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how a person is able to win the car not because I’d definitely like to have the car to replace my dart that I was so stupid for selling but to definitely have the chance to meet you all for sure!!!

One problem, once I win it.. How am I going to bring it back to Canada? 😆

Easy, I'm going to win it. There's no Canada. It's a practical joke by North Dakota.

I feel your pain on transmissions. I had nearly my entire 727 rebuilt when I suddenly found a tiny ball bearing sitting on the bench. Paul knows where those go. 😂😂

Wow. That was a bit of a challenge. A few mistakes, but Paul always figures it out. Way to go. Persistence wins! Great job!

I was born in the 60s, grew up learning Dodge’s quirks with part swapping, then got lost on my C-10 build, I guess it’s what you learn first lol.
    GREAT CONTENT!

I got out of the Navy in 1972 and bought a new Plymouth Duster with the slant six, three on the floor. I ran the fire out of that thing and loved every minute. Haven't had a Chrysler product since.

it took me three days to change a transmission in an plymouth, with tons of cussing and cut fingers, it was a freebee. I should've bought one that fit. it worked in the end . Thanks for sharing your knowledge .

I too, have had mechanical malfunctions due to over use of a B.F.H. ( Big Freaking Hammer) Take time, walk away, have a dew, laugh at your mistake, keep on gaining. Love your channel.

I can relate to the level of frustration you must've felt. Sometimes you just need to go for a drive. I especially like skipping stones at the lakeside to recover.

I did, I figured you would notice it on the bench. I rebuilt automatics for 35 years on your favorite Fords! Been there done that Paul the only issue I see is the more times it comes apart more problems are created at least that how it worked for me.

This is a sweet build. I have wanted one of these for years. In high school my first truck was a 72 dodge 100 with a short bed and a slant 6.. put a 360 in it.. I then had a 74 Ram Charger pulled the 360 out of that and put a MUCHO GRANDE HP 440 in it and messed the frame up bad with that engine.. Didn't support the frame with the extra ponies.. :( .. Moved that engine to a long bed 2wd 3/4 ton dodge.... I miss my old dodges. Back then I swear I could buy any old truck for $500 running or not. Simple days -- NO AC - Carburetor - gas was $1/ gallon and met friends at Fred Meyers on main street to cruise-

That car is so cool! I bet it's going to be really fun to drive. Somebody is gonna be extremely lucky to get that thing to drive and tinker on. I really like how it's not super shiny but in the right places and how it's just a good solid car you dont find them like that anymore i think it should be driven and just preserved the way it is. I've been dreaming about building a car like that, I'm definitely a mopar guy but we have 4x4s.
