thanks for this, your video that showed how to change the graphics helped my computer run uefn without crashing so now i can actually use these tutorials
Thak you so much Pete, I watched other tutorials were they teached how to make roads, but in none of them did they show you how to cross them. Nice vid
A WAYYYYYY better way to do this is to reserve the road layer for splines only and set it to affect landscape! You’d still want to paint the road though
@@TheosGaming1 just wondered if you found "affect landscape option" New to this, have a map in advanced stages and looking for Road Tutorials, this one is great but on reading the comments I came across the one saying their is an easier option but need a little more info so wondered if you had any success - cheers for any info.
@@TheosGaming1What I did was I right clicked on the road layer, and reserved it for splines. So if I raise or lower the road, the land will come with it. Maybe see if that works for you?

I am trying to figure out how to select all segments on a spline... but I have two different splines. One is for the road and another for something else. I just want to select all the segments from the road only. Is there a way to do this? Can I use different layers for splines. I only see that you can reserve one layer for splines. Not really understanding this. Thank you for any help!
If you select the Control Point, and in the details panel click on the Segments button towards the top of the panel, it should select only the segments belonging to that specific spline. Hope this helps.
You may want to try using the T Road Section mesh that Fortnite provides under Environments->Landscape->Spline Meshes. 1. In your map, select the Control Point you want the T mesh to be in. 2. Under the details panel, go to Landscape Spline Meshes. And click the Plus sign to add a new mesh slot. 3. Open the new item, click the small arrow to open the item up. First property you will see is a the Mesh prop. 4. Click on the drop down and select the T Mesh, just search road, and you will see all of them. Add the Road T Section mesh. 5. Now with the Control Point selected, click either the left, right or bottom side of the T Section Mesh point, and you should see the road magically show up connected to the new intersection. Hope this helps, there is a decent in-depth video on this very thing, search in RUclips for uefn splines roads
Hey, so this may help you. Under Landscape mode, select Landscape Layer and go to Paint. 2. Then, you should see the Material that the Landscape has. Look at the names, you should see Layer1, Layer2, etc... 3. Still in Landscape mode, you want to click on the Manage tab, and have Splines selected. 4. Select a Segment. In the Details panel, look for Layer Deformation. You see the Layer Name field? Type in Layer1 and press enter. 5. If you remember from Step 2, Layer1 is the first layer texture under Landscape Material. 6. What Layer Deformation will do is remove the grass from the segment area and place the texture you added in the Layer Name field, which was Layer1. See if that helps you, the idea is not have to manually paint the dirt around all the roads, sometimes you may want to do that but usually you want to avoid that work if possible. Hope this helps, there is a decent in-depth video on this very thing, search in RUclips for uefn splines roads

Thanks for sharing! I’m learning as I go! Love that there are easier ways out there! Much appreciated!
Where is the "affect landscape" option?

this really inspired me to put the new forgis on the jeep
YOO thank you SM for your tutorials man great stuff! You should make a tutorial on how to build with friends in UEFN
Will do! And thank you!! Hope you have been well!
Thank you very much for the tutorial. I‘m waiting for this opportunity like forever. But I‘m still afraid to use the engine 😂
Thank you for making this
Of course!
How about using the smoothing tool instead of noise? I feel that’d help with the gaps under the roads
this is great
Thank you!
Hey Directing Pete, is there any way to remove the path on the sides of the road pieces?
Can u do a tutorial on Terrain rivers and stuff like that but from full custom water
Yes coming this week!
Does anyone know why roads collision breaks for long roads or on higher altitudes? Game instance is high and i can build high
how would one go about T sections and stuff like that? I'm trying to make a tilted towers type POI and the roads are giving me lots of trouble
is it possible to make just the landscape in UEFN and then load that terrain as a template into fortnite creative?
How do I connect my roads to let’s say a parking lot ? These roads gotta go to somewhere
Is there a way to drive a car in the game . Like a car that's bot even in the game
What if i dont want curves but intersections like a 4 way stop?
Is there a reason i cant add a second layer??
mine keeps saying flip selected segments and i cant import the mesh
I dont have all the painting tools. I only have the grass and the gravel. Do you know how i can get them all?
Does noise work instead to get rid of grass or only smooth
How do you pull up the details tab
I CANNOT FIGURE THIS OUT! Everyone doing these tutorials has a details tab under which they do everything and I literally don’t. Under my item label there is nothing no details tab
ruclips.net/video/Kj7UJCqCKH8/видео.html reset your workspace. Follow this tutorial I made
it doesnt work for me, whenever i drag the road straight into the mesh, the details tab dissapears
I am not sure if you are actually dragging. But it’s just control click. No dragging. Maybe that’s the issue?

i cant create layers?
I don't know if it's just me. I'm keeping a bug where the terrain is all pointy and stuff???? I don't know if it's a bug or not.
Are you you using medo island?
I had a question about intersecting roads and crosswalks. How to get that perfect + shape

Is there a way to make the roads less wide?.
Select your Control Point and under the Details panel look for Half-Width, you can set the width of the road there. Hope this helps.

How do you add a pirate ship
Go to prefabs and search pirate ships
i found a better/quicker way.
Same. I learning fast and then my videos are getting outdated as I learn more haha.
