I love the selection! This is now on my tbr
But the romance in The Selection and The Jewel aren't at all alike? in fact, it's only the first book that really focuses on romance. The only thing those two really have in common are the makeover scene.
I wanna try the book cause it sounds interesting and fun, but I hate romance. As someone who’s read this, would you say it easy to brush over the romance and focus on the rest of the story, or should I skip it?

Hopefully faithful if you love the selection you will love this book series!!!! I found it last year and the third book came out recently. SO GOOD!!!! I highly recommend.

Just finished The Jewel last night! After I got past the halfway mark, I had to keep reading until I finished. And that ending???! I have already ordered The White Rose and I'm waiting for it to arrive!!!
I just read the first book yet. GArnet is the best:P I´ve loved him from the first scene. I´m looking forward to read the other books. And I´m really sorry, if there are any mistakes, but I´m from Germany...

I just started reading the jewel and I love it.
I just finished black key last night omg loved the series.
The Selection series was the series I couldn't put down when I was 13 years old
Then The Red Queen series was amazing tho I had a problem with the love interests.
I read The Winner's Trilogy aswell and I love it so so so much, highly recommend!
This book is currently next on my reading list, I am hoping I could get the same hype and amazement :DDD

Aditi Kataria yes and unfortunately I DNF it it wasn’t what I was expecting. The towards the ending part of the book wasn’t my fave cause it had my most hated trope of all time so ye. I’m sorry to those who actually love the series.

I absolutely ADORE the Selection series so I had to check this one out. I finished reading this series and of course, nothing beats the selection but it's still pretty good. Although I can agree with many that the romance/chemistry is disappointing. Still worth the read though

ChVP * The White Rose was my favorite too! it's where we discover the history of the island and it's SO cool! I loved this series, I think I cringed a lot throughout it, but I think it really has a lot of morals and key lessons that everyone should think about

The first book is REALLY good. The second book is much smaller and disappointing, but the third book is pretty good. Still recommend it :)

Lucien's death in The Black Key had me crying for two hours! I had to stop reading for that time because I was crying so hard. That was the saddest and most impactful death I've ever seen in any form of media, and I witnessed Der Flohwalzer.

Ok honestly I think the book is overhyped. Mainly, because of the romance. Did not like it. At. All. In fact, I feel like if Ash didn't exist at all the book would have been even better and people would like it more. Or if all they did was develop a friendship. And this is weird, because normally I'm not so finicky about romance. 99.9% of the time, if you place a book I have read, and a canon ship, I will like it. No matter what the book is. But this book just crossed the line--it was a bit too Disney fairy tale for me. But otherwise, everything else was good. I can see why the Jewel has a fan base as large as it has. The writing style is good. For the most part, I like the characters. And the plot held so much potential (some things completely ruined it for me though) and I would recommend reading this if you want a lighter, more fun and easy read that still has a tinge of mystery.
