WASHINGTON, D.C. - During her tenure as a United States Senator, Kamala Harris supported and advocated for the implementation of economic policies that would decimate America’s workforce and torpedo the economy.
Fast forward to the recently unveiled Harris-Waltz economic proposal, Vice President Harris continues to advocate in favor of policies that would further stifle American prosperity.
The Penn Wharton Budget Model analyzed the Harris-Walz economic plan and reported some alarming results:
Deficits would increase by $1.2 trillion over the next 10 years on a conventional basis, and by $2.0 trillion on a dynamic basis.
Relative to current law, GDP falls by 1.3 percent by 2034 and by 4 percent within 30 years.
Capital investment and working hours also fall, resulting in pre-tax wage losses for all income groups of nearly one percent over the next decade and by 3.3 percent in 2054.
Open-border czar Harris is a proponent of giving free health care to illegal immigrants even as she claims to prioritize the middle class; however, her ideas would only add to the already hefty price tag that American taxpayers must shoulder.
Now, Harris would bring these policies to the Oval Office.

Border Wall Deconstruction
Rather than continuing construction on the border wall, and protecting Americans from illegal drugs, crime, and smuggling that comes across the southern border, the Biden Administration and Secretary Mayorkas have done nothing but make empty promises to border states.
In 2022, Mayorkas promised multiple heavily trafficked areas along the border, including Yuma, Arizona, that he would work to install barriers, and fix holes in Trump’s unfinished border wall. However, according to Yuma County Supervisor Jonathan Lines, it has been almost a year since that promise, and there has been little to no progress. Border states and interior states alike are reeling from the effects of illegal immigration as a result.[3]
To make matters worse, the Biden Administration and Secretary Mayorkas have begun selling unused parts of the border wall that could be used to secure border cities like Yuma. The Administration has sold 81 lots of steel “square structural tubes” intended to be used for border wall panels, 729 hollow beams, with several more lots scheduled to be sold. The sales have brought in a little over $2 million, hardly making a dent in the cost incurred through open border policies.[4]
Since Mayorkas took over, up to $300 million worth of border wall parts, paid for by taxpayers, have been left unused.

The question is why are 45's supporters so emotional? I understand that he said that he likes the uneducated but one can be uneducated academically and still exhibit sane behaviours. Look at the messages on their clothing when they go to the rallies, it's as if they have no responsibilities to being role models to their children and their grandchildren. The fact that people are afraid to say that they don't support 45 because they are fearful for their lives is really disturbing.
VOTE him out no matter what.
If republicans cannot be safely public about their rejection of Trump, remember that the ballot booth is still private. The results will be hopeful for the whole world! Vote blue through the whole ticket so you can restore your party in the future.

This was such an important conversation. Since Biden stepped down and Harris stepped up, I am seeing a lot of people calling themselves 'ex-MAGA' for the first time in 9 years. I have been all over political message boards welcoming them to the coalition gratefully, and chastising any Democrats who are negative towards them. We need these people, and it's our best chance at coming back to normal politics, not the lies and violence. Most Trump voters aren't bad people at all. They are good people who just went with the flow of their friends and family - until they couldn't anymore.
I was so impressed with the DNC Convention and all the anti-Trump Republicans who spoke, and the huge applause each of them got, even people who used to work for Trump. My gut tells me that it is not true democrats that throw negative commentary at any republicans choosing country over maga republican party. True democrats welcome your help. If there are people calling themselves democrats and throwing shade, they are more likely online trolls and provacateurs.
I miss the days when politics didn't dominate EVERY corner of America. The days when political debates were about policy instead of character. The days when people weren't PROUD of electing DOUCHES and TURDS.
The days where on Thanksgiving, it was understood that we would get excited about football and jokily defend our teams, but we never discussed religion or politics. A lot of the things that get labeled as "political" these days shouldn't be; but the MAGA sect must constantly cycle through scapegoats to keep their followers angry and fearful. As soon as they pick a group to start demonizing (be it Muslims, refugees, queer people, 'Satanists', secular institutions, Haitian immigrants, and the list goes on), that group's entire existence gets labeled as "political" by the population at large. None of these groups asked to become political targets or mascots.

My grandfather was an a straight ticket Repubican voter! My view of the party changed when Trump came down that golden escalator! I already knew the person he was... liar, misogynist, malignant narcissist, sexual abuser, business failure, tax cheat... just a horrible person and a bully... not a tough guy.... just a bully! His campaign in 2016 only solidified my negative views of him, and I knew he should NEVER sit in the Oval Office. I take offense to anyone who believes Democrats don't love America. I always believed we love it more because our focus is on ALL of our citizens, and yes, the rule of law and the Constitution...preserving rights. It's been a while since I've believed the GOP has actually stood for anything but the wealthy... and the party truly has NOT defended the Constitution lately. I recently had a conversation with a friend of mine who is a Republican; a true Republican. I’m a Democrat and have been even before I could vote. My friend was telling me he was thinking about switching over to being an Independent, and I said to him that he shouldn’t do that. The reason being if he did that he wouldn’t be true to himself and he would be letting MAGA win and keep the party. It’s going to take Democrats, Republicans and Independents working together to vanquish MAGA. I want to see the Republican Party retaken by the true Republicans who respect and honor the rule of law. To do that I’m more than willing to work with them to make it happen.
Lifelong Democrat here-I am so proud and impressed with these two men. True courage, conviction, and integrity. They have sacrificed a lot.

I'm a progressive Democrat and totally agree with you about needing two viable parties and you're helping to make that happen.
Some years back I was a far left Democrat that believed the lies and conspiracy theories put out by "news" publications like the Gray Zone. Thankfully I started to notice that things they said didn't add up. But J6 pulled me much more to the center and made me realize how easily our democracy could be destroyed.
I know we're not perfect. Not by a long shot but it's still far, far better than any other type of governmental system out there.

This was an excellent panel, Im married to a Republican USAF retired veteran who’s voting for Harris and feels very strongly akin to the opinions shared here. As a lifelong lefty myself I appreciate the dialogue, and helps me get more understanding too.

Thanks to all of you for putting your reputations and lives on the line to help save our country. I am hoping you will be able to recreate the Republican party once this crisis is over.
Please. Please. Please also emphasize down ballot races! A republican controlled Senate means that a President Harris won’t accomplish much.
I was a Republican leaning independent for years. I voted Republican whenever I could. But I was also always a social liberal. What happened to me was since the 90’s I saw how Republicans started going down a dark road. But even then, whenever I could make it a question of economy and public debt, I voted Republican. But I couldn’t ignore what Republicans were doing. I saw the fear mongering from the far right bleachers. Let’s call it the Rush Limbaugh effect. But there were others that bothered me. The first big real break was the tea party movement. I just couldn’t jive with the hypocrisy of it. All the talk of cost cutting but really it was just irresponsible governing. Then when the Republican Party conspired to keep Obama from his Supreme Court appointment, I really had to drop the Republican leaning part of my title. Then I watched with Horror the Republican Primaries of 2015. It was terrible to watch as an absolute ignoramus kept moving up and the population kept falling for it. But I wasn’t too surprised when Trump beat Hillary. It was just bad choices. And I would have been fine with that. It’s hard between two bad choices. But what shocked me was how many of my family actually liked Trump. I was like, what in the heck is wrong with you all? I get you maybe think he is the lesser of two evils, but you don’t even think he is evil. Then I watched as they went deeper and became actual cult members. Now I’m on the outside of the family. The only one who isnt part of the craziness. And now I feel for you non-trumpist Republicans, but for me, the Republican Party must be brought down to its knees as long as this blight is on our country. I am worried about a single part country, and I think that will be a bad thing. But right now it’s either a single Democratic Party and a Party of Trump, and the latter to me is unacceptable. So let’s destroy the Republican Party as quickly as possible, so that a new party can rise from its ashes as soon as possible.

As a life long Democrat I have to say it is really sad to see what the Republican Party has become. I'm old enough to remember Nixon and Nixon was a choirboy compared to Trump. I also remember Pres. Reagan and G.H.W. Bush and Sen. McCain. Trump honestly, sincerely feels to me as a walking Rorschach test of character. He always has. He's like an X-ray that lights up every hidden dark blotch in the heart of his followers, and exposes it for normal people to see, often for the first time. It's one of the things I hate the most about the Trump era. I was happier not knowing what my neighbors REALLY were, underneath. I'm happy those 2 guys got out. They really seem like good guys.

Your neighbors may have had concerns that Trump, and his enablers hijacked and manipulated. Trump is dangerous because his pathology can infect others to become mentally ill, too. What you are seeing from your neighbours may not be their true colors.

Thank you so much. We need more of this. I’m a (former?) Republican and have felt politically homeless as I watched my party disintegrate into a disgusting hateful cult. I’m thankful to be welcomed with open arms as a joyful Kamala supporter.

Trump is Maximus. Leader of men and women. Loyalty, commitment, love for people of all religious, races, and kinds. Believes in the United States of America. Brave and a family man. He puts the American people first. Children are the future.
Democrats are typically more inclusive and nonjudgmental. Different colors, religions, parties, policies, values…One united, beautiful country. That’s the great American experiment. 💙❤️🤍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 HARRIS IS THE PRESIDENT AMERICA NEEDS and THE LEADER THE WORLD NEEDS AT THIS TIME. VOTE!

I now live in the US, but originally from Canada, which kind of makes you left of center, especially on social issues! In 2008 I got my citizenship and was able to vote! I was not a Hillary fan, and really liked John McCain until Palin came into the picture! By then I was for Obama, he was inspiring, an amazing orator and was going to be historic, so he got my vote in 2008 and 2012! Then I was faced with a tough decision in 2016 and holding my nose voted for Hilary because I sensed the danger Trump posed! In 2020, I liked Biden, but thought he was too old, but Trump was a real danger at that point, so I once again voted Democrat!
I love this channel and The Bulwark as a whole! It is not about conspiracy and sensationalism, but intelligent conversation about the realities of this election politics in general!
And for all my real Republican friends out there, I do believe we need a strong 2 party system! A 3 party system if the I dependents ever make some headway! Locally, I have voted for both Republicans and Democrats, on the same ticket! Depends on which issues are close to my heart!
And the one argument that I feel is the strongest for Kamala Harris, is the peaceful transfer of power! If in 2028, the Republicans have a strong candidate that is a true conservative, and Harris policy has caused the US to backslide, inflation is not under control and life in general is worse, and she loses, she will peacefully transfer power! So we will get to vote! I don’t know if that would necessarily be true if Trump wins this year!
So the way I look at it, it’s only 4 years and then we can change if we want to! But she at least honors our military, doesn’t hold autocrats and dictators in high esteem, and I believe she believes in this country! But if it doesn’t go well, it’s only 4 years and we get to try again!

That’s why Trump will lose, and the Republican Party will lose all down the ticket, it won’t be Democrats that elect Harris/Walz. It will be Republicans LIKE ME & YOU!
You have no policy differences. For 50+ years, you've been promising the American People all this stuff like rooting out corruption, controlling the budget, cutting wasteful spending, trying to organize a better healthcare and social security program, among many, many, others things, and you haven't delivered on those promises. In comes Trump, and he does more in four years than all the Mitch McConnell's, Lindsey Graham's, Mitt Romney's, and John McCain's, combined!! He's definitely showed you up, and you can't stand it when you see your fellow citizens succeed in ways that would've never happened under the Bushes or Reagan. Never again will a Jeb Bush/Liz Cheney type candidate make it anywhere. The old Republican Establishment is one foot in the grave and we need to give it a push.
