You are the best granddaughter ever! I bet she loves just having you back close by, and hanging out, but to help her with her home? That is even better!
We have lived in our home for 48 years. Can’t tell you how happy I was to find this series! We’ve working on declutterring for over a year now, but it’s slow going since we still are working part time. Can’t wait to follow along with you! Grandma is blessed to have you!
I am so here for this series! Suggestion: When you get to decluttering the sewing corner, maybe rearrange the furniture so the sewing desk is in front of the window instead of shoved into the corner. Working in natural light is always better. The large chest of drawers could go opposite the door where the sewing desk is now, with the small organizer between it and the sewing desk, and the small sideboard in the spot where you currently have the large chest of drawers.
This so my mom’s house. She passed away 3 weeks ago and I know my sister and I will need to go through it. It’s daunting. You’re awesome to help do this for your Grandma.
Wonderful- thank you! My family tried to help my grandparents as I was growing up with some success. Grandmother was very sensitive about her closets, chiffarobes, and furniture and allowed only a small bit of help such as mashing one more outfit on a hanger into an already stuffed closet or the same type of thing with her dresser drawers... Granddaddy had unexpressed ideas of what was okay but essentially we were guessing! However, my father and his siblings were quite determined and figured out how to ask and what to ask about so as to encourage acceptance of the offering! We were able, the 7 families, to replace the living room furniture, add recliners for the matriarch and patriarch, clear the adjacent land (1/2 acre of weeds, Palmetto plants, vines and rogue scrub pines) and plant grass, restore the flowerbeds, replace the gas cylinder, pay ahead on the gas bill and electric bill, always buy groceries and do laundry (I learned to use a mangle!) and clean the refrigerator out as well as cook when we visited, make potholders and trivets and bring them with us when we visited at holiday time, and whatever could be managed so as to reduce the amount of work needing doing after the large gatherings. I was so accustomed to this I imagined most families went to their relatives' homes and worked at whatever was needed! Even after realizing it was not so, I appreciated the example given to all of the following generations: many of us have followed this tradition to the delight of our parents! it is so nice to see someone as young as you do this and with such respect and compassion. Please continue! Bye
This is going to be a good series. It is so nice you are doing this for your grandmother. I really need to start doing this for my mom. I know my mom won’t want to part with much. She is 84 years old and going through all her stuff after she passes it going to be overwhelming.
I found your channel today & absolutely love it ! this is the first video I watched & plan to watch all of your videos. Kudos to your grandmother wanting to declutter her home & kudos to you for wanting to help her. It is so much easier to do it with your grandmother's wanting to help & you both are able to accomplish the decluttering of her house. Bless both you & your grandmother.
This is so inspiring for me to help my mother-in-law with all of her stuff (in two houses and a storage unit). Your patience and process is great and I will be approaching her with the same ideas and hopefully she will be open to it. Thank you!!
Just love you are doing this with your grandma. My aunt and I did something similar with mine. ❤ So thankful that I moved back home and was able to spend so much more time with her before she was gone.
Massive improvement--- and workout! That dresser (which is beautiful, btw) was definitely full. Daunting. Re: the doilies. Hang some in frames with dark blue or black backgrounds, and hang them on walls, maybe in a grouping. If your gma knows who crochetted them, and roughly when, label them. .
It's so nice that you get to do this while she's still here. You find out what has significance for her. ❤ We're about to go through my mom's pictures with her. I can't wait!
I can so relate to the hair lol When I was 5 my hair was down past my butt and my mom kept my pony tail because she had it all cut off super short. When she died I found it in her closet. I'm 43 now and I still have it! ❤❤❤
This is indeed very heartwarming and very wonderful and very beautiful and this brings back such great memories of when I use to be a 90s kid and an 2000s kid anyway I am a new subscriber and i hope Get It Done With Gabbi and her family are doing fine and are having a really wonderful life as well:).
Hi Gabbi. Mack from Midwest Magic Cleaning mentioned your channel in his latest video and says, "Hi" to you! I am 3 minutes in and I already like you so I have subscribed and will be catching up on all your videos! I'm glad to be here!
this is the first video of you that i'm following. subscribed as well. You are doing a good job for your future. Now you have stamina and motivation, if you would leave this to be done by your parents, or maybe when you are older, It would be a trauma (as it was when my dad passed away). I'm doing this now that i'm 45 with my 88yo mum.
I'm 75. I toss stuff every day. 3 of us live in a 2BR apartment. Each holiday's decorations fit in a shoebox. Friends have houses full of stuff. Tina, Al's wife
Were was the declutter done everything Is the same no declutter at all.Only move things from place to place. The drawer for me dont count that not visual clutter
Agreed if she swaps the location of the doors they will work better. But also get in the closet and look up at the rails they rest on make sure they haven’t been warped or bent. You might also check the wheels they need to be cleaned and oiled or greased again. That helped us when we moved into a fifty year old house. The doors worked they just need to be clean and maintained.

Great job in helping your grandma declutter. Your patience in helping her with her massive declutter is absolutely lovely & no small feat.
I am so here for this series!

You are AMAZING and have so much stamina and patience! I am sure your grandma is so appreciative.
Your Grandma did great! I love the empty space that purging leaves behind.

I love when decluttering doubles as cardio 😂 it’s so much more physical work than people think!!
Oh my gosh; what a massive amount of stuff you were able sort through! Way to go you and grandma! ❤
I am so going to love this series! Can’t wait! 😁
You are a blessing to your Grand-ma. After a lifetime of memories it is challenging.

Can I buy the red vacuum from you
She's lived there for 50 years. And had that vacuum cleaner for just about that long. Shame on dyson, it still works and my current vacuum doesn't.
Awesome job to you both. Now here’s the crazy question. So when will you two deal with the elephant behind that closet door? Humm?
Can I buy the oreck vacuum from you😊
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
👏🏼❤️

Sometimes I want to ask people-are you actually going to read those books again?? No offense.
Most of the books I have I have read 2-3 times. I reread one when I can’t find a good book or have the time to get new ones
Yes. Yes, I am. All of them.
Some are reference books,needed always
The closet doors are reversed. Ha dles should be ext to the door jamb.
