I have an original 480GB Kingston SSD. From HDSentinel, the controller says Phison which it should as per the video. Inside the drive tho, the controller is SM2259XT which is a Silicon Motion. One way to differentiate is to compare the NAND Flash inside the drive. Original Kingston SSDs have Kingston markings on the NAND Flash chips
I realize this is an old vid but I am curious about a couple of things... What is making you think one is fake? It is well known Kingston changes out controllers and other parts in their SSDs without telling the customer, yet keeping the overall model number the same. So I don't know how anyone figures one is fake, and the other one is not? If anything these are two different revisions of the same product from what I am seeing. I could only see the main hd sentinel window for both drives, but did not see the hdsentinel INFO screens for BOTH drives, plus in Russian or whatever language. Which is the one that died? The one on the left from the sounds of things? Your drives are definitely two different part numbers: left side part 9907259-022.B00G 8591769-1948 < DATE Code 1948 Year 2019 Week 48 SN 50026B77831B6CE2 right side part 9907154-080.A00G 9296755-2142 < DATE Code 2142 Year 2021 week 42 SN 50026B7784420FBD You do have two drives made in two different years Google the part numbers and you can probably get more details on what was used for the actual build, if you dig... They probably did switch from one controller to the other between the phison and whatever the transcend one is, there is a 2 year manufacturing gap between them. This kind of stuff is exactly why I do NOT buy kingston products, in addition to their requirement for you to have the original receipt for warranty service. Anymore I buy Samsung only for new, their service is always great. Kingston and PNY are just junk anymore...
The one on your left is the real one, not the one on the right. The real one has the capacity stamped on the back of the power connector and the fake does not and the real one has a Phison PS3111-S11 chip. But your fake one is a good copy.
I wondered why the original one based on videos is the one that got busted in less than a year for me. Good thing I read thru comments. Thank you! You are right, the busted one I have is the right one in the video. Its RW speed went 0.83MBps. Reformatted and fixed it then issue came back again with only Write speed of 0.83 rather than around 300+ before.
@@AndrewShaidurov Thank you bro.. after i checked and searched alot i found out that Phison PS3111-S11 must me the original one... the fake one usually Transcend or silicon motion... but yes still i need to be careful about it Thank you again for your help
