I've actually seen salons in China do black hair amazingly, and even though they didn't do the best job, they tried and I loved how fascinated they were by your hair type.

@@raybandz4017 Bruh. They are trying. What do you expect when it's a foreign country and they're predominantly Asian. They're used to fine hair, not kinky and curly. Not everyone is from America girl, they did their best with what they knew.
They were really gentle and they did their best considering they didn't have the proper tools to handle your hair. Kudos to them. The guy at the end was so fascinated.

@@tifniang5382 Their flat irons are different from American flat irons. They are more slim and do not carry enough heat for black/brown hair.
They have all the proper tools its just that he tried to flat iron wet hair rather than add leave in conditioner or moisturizer and blow dry then flat iron.

Like sis, you're in a country on a continent a majority of the world gets their straight weaves from. I laughed so hard! I loved their work ethic. Lord knows they did not have the products needed, but they tried. You are a brave woman. I congratulate you!
That's what I was thinking. A significantly large number of African American woman purchase hair/ hair care products from a culture that knows NOTHING about our hair and what it needs. But awesome video!
I bet they're saying to themselves, "Now we know why they buy all this hair from us."
Our hair is so different; it honestly defies gravity.
Not to mention all the other generic hair rules that other cultures abide by. These Chinese stylists were right to be nervous- Our hair ain't no punk to deal with.😆
Truth be told, I've had this exact same experience right here in America, several times. Certified stylists of the caucasian persuasion were just as amused, curious, awe struck, baffled at the sudden tight curl and shrinkage upon wetting it, and in disbelief when I told them the blow dryer AND flat iron needed more HEAT.
By the time we were done, I had taught all 4 of the blondes in my local HairCuttery how to properly treat black hair before straightening it. You'd think they were taught BLACK hair care in beauty school- but nope.
They didn't know that you must let the heat and tension do the work.

Had my hair cut at a chinese hair salon in Toronto. I was so nervous but the hairdresser kept saying it's just hair! She did a pretty good job.
My son's best barber was an Asian woman, she was great, he loved going to her. She was trained with black hair. And even if she wasn't she had the " it's just hair" outlook as well.
Beautiful. The thing is that they will figure it out and be doing black hair in China on a whole other level. The young lady is so pretty and was so patient and sweet. Love that about Black women.

When I was little I modelled with a little boy that naturally had a ginger afro. He was black, but had extra unique hair and was highly sought after for modelling jobs.

I was thinking the same thing but then again I wanted to see what they came up with and they really did try. Over here, there are so many stylists - even black ones - who just wanted to slap relaxer or texlaxer in my head without even trying.
