It seams people do not get serious enough about filtration of the waste water. I do commend you on yours. This looks Ike a decent system. This is sorting we all need to work on.
Lol... I used that same exact board from the home dopot! my washout booth looks just like that! 1 afternoon and hundreds saved! and guess what... screens are clean!
Do you have any idea how many gallons are used for a screen washing? We’re trying to size a water heater for our new studio/shed. Any thoughts would be much appreciated! Thanks, George
Nice video. I am looking for ideas. Did you say you are in your patio? I want to do that too. How do you bring exposed screen to washout and keep from ambient lights? Thanks
So I do my screen exposing inside and once I’m done exposing them, I use a water bottle and spray them which stops the exposure process. So the ambient light isn’t an issue. Also my patio is covered anyways, which doesn’t pose a problem.
Ok, I'm super new to screen printing so please bare with me. I love your setup and can see how perfect it is for reclaiming a screen, but how do you handle UV contamination when you are washing out a screen? Don't you get some emulsion setting up before you can fully rinse it? Or am I overthinking how effective emulsion is at burning a screen in daylight?
@@bigmamabren3360 oh. Easy peezy. So I exposure in a spare bedroom. Then once it’s done burning I have a spray bottle with just water. I spray the screen down and let it sit fir a minute and then wash it out.
Yes. Those are smaller hat screens. You should be able to get the fairly easily. I’m gonna be trying pond filters, but those screens inside are just for swamp coolers. Just trying to catch the big chunks.

It’s been a few years and it’s held up great.

@@darknytestudios I'll try that and as added measure, I'll try and do washout at night. Thank you for your help.
I am new in this profession. Please, explain the reason behind the filter system.
Here in USA it is illegal to dump the water down the drain. It needs to be filtered so that the emulsion doesn't go down the drain.
Cool video. What filters do you have attached to the outside of the system?
I put a link in the description but it’s pretty common at Lowe’s and Home Depot.
Would you be able to provide links for the pump and filtration system?
Yeah. I can get the links and add them to the description.
Fuckin awesome DIY. Thanks for the info!
Thanks. I changed a couple things since, but it’s mostly the same.

You mean after I’ve burned a screen with the film positive?
@@darknytestudios yes sir.

thanks for making this video! is your first filter a screenprinting screen? what is the thick filter inside it? Thanks!

how's the smell in the 2 step filter after having this setup for a few months?
what size screens are the ones being used as filters?
the smallest aluminum screens I can find are 10x14
A couple of 200 screens that were hat screens. but I’ve upgraded this to different filters.
Do you just discard it into your yard ? When you said behind me lol
Lol. There is a clean out on the floor, I just don’t want to leave it open all the time.
Love it bro beats spending $1k on a sink lol
