We also have sambal kelapa (coconut) , sambal tempoyak (fermanted durian) , sambal belacan (shrimp paste mix with chilies and lime), sambal ikan (usually made from fish mix with coconut), sambal kuinin (from pounded kuinin fruit mix with chilies), sambal mangga (manggo mix with chilies, pounded anchovies or fish) and also sambal kicap (soy sause with chilies) and others. Do not confuse .
I grew up knowing this Laksa Telok Kechai all my life. I am in my 50’s now. Watching you enjoying my 2 favourite food here (laksa and pulut sambal) makes me salivating. Tomorrow I must go and get it too. I am known as “Hantu Laksa”.

Abc goes well together with laksa on hot weather. There's also many versions of laksa kedah as i know they made that noodles themselves name it as laksa beras and the broth also quite thick more to greyish color maybe because of belacan. Also they eat with sambal sotong, or telur sarang, and by any ways i love them unconditionally 😆😆😆

You should switch it up and visit Singapore one day. We have Katong Laksa and Siglap Laksa (although the latter is almost impossible to find nowadays).
Siglap laksa from last time I ate was at Bedok Camp Hawker centre(thicker gravy and red sambal). Singapore laksa is with coconut milk fishcake,bean sprout,cockles and tofu puffs.
The eggs and the pulut on the table no need to finish. They will count how many you have eaten, and you just pay for how many you have eaten. It's not all for you 😂
From my own experience living in Kedah (for the past 6 years), Penang laksa is slightly sweet. Usually pineapple, otak udang paste and salad leaves are added. Whereas in Kedah, usually we don't use salad leaves. We use ulam like daun putat, daun gajus and daun salem and no pineapple. No otak udang paste too.
