I had a buddy in HWP in another state and he caught a kid who had stolen 31 Commodores over 1 weekend, just steal, burnouts, torch it. He was calling to get Pol-Air to help out but it wasn’t a priority, he couldn’t even get a second HWP in the area because there wasn’t the budget for it, so after he caught the maggot who had just turned 18, the courts wanted to try him as a junior, and then the magistrate ‘saw something in the kid’ and went against prosecutions recommendation of 2yrs weekend detention and a load of community service, she sentenced him to therapy and I think 6mo probation.

      @benjamingavrilis71 Год назад

      First of all, Daniel Andrews is extremely anti-police, he disguises his real opinions with fake ones, he claims he supports police but he really doesn't. We have a serious issue with youth crime in Victoria and his solution is too increase the age of Criminal responsibility to 14YO instead of 10YO which basically allows younger individuals to get off of violent repeat offences, because "they don't understand what they're doing". Anyone with common sense would realize this is just a political stunt to get his youth crime rates down, when they're actually going up, because no one below 14YO can be charged with a crime. When I was 10, hell when I was 8, I knew it wasn't right to fken rob someone with a weapon or commit other offences.
      This is seriously fking the victims and the community in the ARSE because there are PLENTY of say 10YO - 14YO that are perfectly capable of committing an offence, especially against a vulnerable group such as the elderly or disabled. Bring a weapon into it, mixed with Australia's disastrous self-defense laws, and basically a toddler could commit armed robbery or assault with a deadly weapon on anyone of any age.
      Don't count on Labor and their woke cronies / bureaucrats in VicPol to actually do anything aside from give criminals a break and destroy our society. While front line officers have to put up with more and more abuse from the public and literally fear for their careers / life because some drunk or drugged up idi0t does something stupid.

    Keep in mind though, Victorian police are the most draconian police in Australia, they are the ones that loved messing with people during covid. There are also all sorts of laws in Victoria that are totally unnecessary that don't exist in other states in Australia, such as flying a kite, absurd fishing laws, up until 1998 it was illegal to change a lightbulb in your own house and had to pay an electrician to do it in Victoria, Victoria is basically the most authoritarian type state in Australia. It is no surprise that Melbourne, the capital of Victoria is part of China's belt and road initiative, the Victorian state government and police probably are pro-CCP as they clearly love authoritarianism.

    Hero's all of them . Every day, coppers risk their lives, not knowing if they will go home at shifts' end. That is bravery.

      @Kingsford Gray I realise you have submitted a typo. However are you fucking kidding . The story is about hero cops and you choose to focus on my inability to correctly use grammar / punctuation.
      Let me say that without error, you're a first world lefty (hiding behind a sudonym) with smegma breath .

      No-one forces anyone to join the Police, and they are well paid for what they do.

      @@johnvienta7622 Then why are they leaving in droves?
      Especially in Portland and LA.

      @@MichaelKingsfordGray .... Not sure how that relates to anything I wrote. No-one forces anyone to join the Police and they are also free to resign at any time. Here in Australia a State Government is going to allow immigrants to join the Police despite the fact they will not be Australian citizens when they are sworn in, and that is because of the low number of local applicants and high resignation rate.
