I remember when you had short videos like this one where you tested alarms individually from your collection being run off from the 8005 a long time ago. So I find this quite nostalgic for some reason.
Man, it’s been ages since I’ve seen one of your videos. I remember back in 4th-5th grade I’d watch those system test videos all the time, and I always loved the fire alarm buyers guide. Man, that must’ve been 9 or so years ago. Time really does fly.
Should be a tag on it saying what voltage it runs on. If it's a 4030 it'll be AC. Find out what the voltage is and get the correct transformer to power it. Usually a doorbell transformer will suffice if it doesn't run on 110 or 120 volts (which comes straight out of the wall, don't need a transformer for that)
If he is really done with System Tests, we should at least get like a goodbye finale special to the System Tests like whenever he has time or on the anniversary of the day he started the System Tests. I think that would be really special.
Nice video! Love these older simplex horns. It’s kind of sad though that so many people bug you when you upload a new video that’s not about mechanical fire alarms or the 8005…
Glad to see you back! Ive watched ur videos since I was 5 years old and enjoyed them ever since. On a side note, I got a 4007es, and I have the programming software for it. But, the software is more complicated than some of the other programmers (like EST Fireworx and/or Programming Softwares). Considering you’ve worked on some “proprietary” Simplex equipment (like those faulty 4100u panels) , any advice on the programmer?
@@NewAgeServerAlarm Update: i figured it out. The programmer has a built in checklist that i followed along with the manual i finally found. However, the programmer wasn’t the right version so looks like im gonna have to get a different one or figure out how to update the firmware to match the programmer. Luckly, my school has a quirky 4100u that always finds a way to display a trouble. So, maybe i can talk to the principal about reaching out to the simplex technicians that come to work on that panel.
How'd you get audible silence on that old of an alarm? Are there two separate pairs of wires running from the horn and strobe? Anyways, awesome video, got to say the wonderful years of just watching you every evening for a couple of years, and I love mechanical horns, Thanks!
Always nice to see a 2903 being how rare they’re becoming, especially one that has a flasher circuit. I also really like the way the 9833 looks under the light plate with the lines being perfectly matched up.
Man I love those mechanical horns, interesting how the AFP's coding seems to have more off time than off time, I almost like it better that way. By the way, I believe you mentioned you wanted to get an older Radionics system someday. Just though I'd let you know I made a system used to restore them when the onboard lithium battery dies, so if you ever run into that issue, let me know and I can help you out.
@@TheCarson116 this video was recorded with a mobile phone in a room that doesn't have the best acoustics, and then compressed and streamed via the internet to your device, and then delivered to your ears through an electromagnetic coil wrapped around a magnet with a cone attached. A lot can change the sound, so I'm sorry if it doesn't meet your expectations for what it should sound like, according to your perfectly tuned ears.

It's always a good day when you upload. I really like a lot of the older Simplex equipment too. Nice video!
Agree
I've recently got a fire alarm myself, I believe it was a Wheelock MIZ-24-LSM from 1996. Still neat to see you uploading every now and then.
its good to see you upload again also are you still going to do system tests? or short videos like this one
yes

thats a rather short pulse, sounds punchy tho
The March Time rate being put out by the Notifier panel is a little weird.
@@NewAgeServerAlarm Ah, that would explain it.

the alarm sounds like UTAU cover

That 9833 doesn't sound right to me.
Because of manufacturing irregularities no two 9833s will have the same pitch.
@@NewAgeServerAlarm Compared to most other 9833s I've heard this one just doesn't sound right, almost "muffled" in fact.

The horn sounds a bit odd. Is the alarm being run as 2-wire or 4-wire?
