    Une Pure merveille. Une grâce inimitable chez ce très grand Maître, qui s'est transmise dans la magie des évolutions du KINOMICHI, cet Art étant la sublimation (ou l'accomplissement) de l'Aïkidô.

    I smile as I see Noro Sensei then, in such a beautiful dojo, in comparison to 1962 when he first taught at the old UK "Hut Dojo" , this is Kinomichi, it does not claim to be Aikido or a MA. it is about movement. Noro Sensei developed this style after a serious car accident, for those that are not aware he was an amazingly powerful Aikido teacher. Henry Ellis - Co-author - "British Aikido History".

    well, you are right at heart. a form of MARTIAL art. martial from the online free dictionary: soldierly, warriorlike. which certainly implies combat. a form of art that uses the body for self expretion is dancing.

    @urplereen Here, it is shown very slowly, the sensei doesn't move at the real speed and doesn't throw the students on the ground. But he could if he wanted to.
    Btw martial arts are not only meant to be used for defense, it's also a form of art :)

    for a martial art to be worth of that title it must offer a way of complete development based on the realities of combat
    this is an embarrassment

    Very nice... but maybe somebody can explain to me why the kotogaeshi is done like that- it looks to me like there is a risk of twisting the wrist- IF it is misunderstood. The
    way I like to do it goes along the curled fingers, and can't hurt the wrist....of course here it is not supposed to hurt either but it looks like that could happen.

    • @yahir978

      Because thats is the way that O'sensei did his kotegaeshi. If you don't hold his hand like that you can twist his arm and shoulder provoquing the twist in his torso. The only way to scape of that is doing the ukemi because if you don't you can risk a broken wrist. Now a days only a few masters of aikido teach kotegaesgi like that but the reality is if you take his arm instead of the wrist in a real scene of figth, the attaquer can turn off his arm and giving a chance for scape of the technique.
      It seems like a dance this style but is not.
      Sorry about my english

    I do have my doubts about this art.... No disrespect, but how can something that looks so elegant and dance-like actually be used for self-defense?

    • @juliettedelamotte7420
      @juliettedelamotte7420 4 года назад +2

      A martial art is not intended to be used for self-defense. It is a way of education, of building oneself from inside. If you want to defend yourself, take a gun with you...

    This is not Aikido, it doesn't respect the principals of balance and weight. No mind if it is slow or fast. this could be nice dancing.
