Hi Adele, love your "rambling" ...I am from the Netherlands, where it is freezing, literally..I have visited your beautiful country twice and I love it! You have the best beaches ( love that it's not so crowded....over here the beaches are super over crowded whenever the sun shines) First time we stayed in Sydney for a couple of days and then headed to Cairns, went for some snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef, flew back to Brisbane and drove to Sydney again. Second time I went to Nowra to be with my friend and we drove to Bermagui to have a holiday for a week...loved every second of it...What does strike me is the fact that it gets dark so soon, but maybe that's because I visited in April and August and the fact that you Ozzies stay inside so much..Over here we jump in the sun in our garden whenever there is sun and the temp is above 17 degrees, you all stay inside....Still I love Australia and I am saving up to go visit again, but with my hubby and kids now, so lots of savings to do...will be aware of the creepy spiders though, jaiks do NOT love them
I love that you just use it (the snow flakey papers) they're still pretty & its a shame not to. I remember when your bunny passed and my heart goes out to you all now as it did then. You are a great bunny mum and take great care. Thank you for sharing the story. I'm sending hugs from Arizona, where I'd have to drive at least 2 hours to see snow.
We visited Australia 20 years ago when my children were 12 and 10. We loved it! We spent 2 nights in Sydney then travelled up the east coast in a camper van. Loved the scenery, the people and the places we visited. Loved seeing koalas and kangaroos in the wild, but were wary of snakes and insects! Spent some time with friends in Brisbane and our kids got to feed a kookaburra by hand which visited their garden. What made us laugh wasn’t we visited in May and it was about 20C - we turned up wearing T-shirts and shirts and our friends had a fire lit and were in sweaters 🤣 Our children couldn’t wait to get into the sea and their daughter was shivering! Oh the difference between the U.K. and Australia weather! We loved Australia so much - my favourite place on earth and could have easily moved their.
Love These Pages! I had to laugh at your Tigger noise because we have a Tigger alarm clock that was my son's first alarm clock when he was in kindergarten. (He is now 21) When the alarm goes off, it is Tigger's voice saying, "Oo-Oo-Oo-Oo, Are you ready for some Bouncin'?" It is in my son's collection of things for when he has kids of his own. As a New Zealander who moved to Australia 22 years ago , I’ve seen the sum total of 3 snakes in the wild and 2 were babies and all were red belly blacks( more scared of you than you would be of it) . I too am scared of spiders but more so because of the way they run than there venomousness (lol) I think the birds in Australia are AMAZING so pretty and colourful . I have 2 rabbits and I’m UK based. Rabbits are classed as an exotic pet here too. I also have chickens and they also class as exotic, despite being farmyard animals here. Have a very Merry Christmas 🎄
We visited Sidney and surrounding area in November 2019 and I can't remember seeing a single spider. The strangest thing I found was the need to ask for ice when drinking cold drinks. I love a lot of ice in my cold drinks.
We actually just got our second rabbit today and I live in the US and they are classified as exotic animals as well. We got lucky because our vet that we take our dogs and cats too also sees rabbits.
Here’s my ramblings of Aussie wildlife from 2 visits to a friend in Noosa in 1998 and 2001. Her Australian husband showing me a dead red back spider and saying to never touch one of those! Hand feeding a kookaburra pieces of minced meat on her father in laws veranda, amazing Dead cockroaches in the morning as she lived on the edge of a national forest and her house had been fumigated so they came in and died overnight - yak Cockatoos just being garden birds, this blew my mind, I’d only ever seen them in zoos. Incredible. Cane toads. Disgusting Rainbow lorikeets feeding in huge numbers on a feeder, spectacular. Just the sound of birds, so beautiful and tropical sounding compared to UK sounds.
I haven't had much luck with Snapfish. I did a small order with Officeworks a few weeks ago and was very surprised by how good the quality was. I'll be ordering from OW again. Merry Christmas to the Rad Fam. Xox

On agrikaans we call dragonflies "naaldekokers" which translated directly to nail-boilers. So as kids we used to hide our finger and toenails from them. I'm still a little nervous them and feel like hiding my nails when they're around🤣
I was totally terrified of dragonflies when I was a kid because in Norwegian we call them «øyenstikkere» which means “eye stinger” in english. Oh the horror! I’m not so scared of them now, but spiders!!! I would probably have died if I had met some of the huge spiders you have in Australia. 😨😨😨
