The whole point of life is to realize that we want nothing but god’s love. The unavoidable physical death is here to remind us that we arent in control of anything and that only God is.

You sound like a Muslim sister!! Peace be on Jesus, Mohammed S.A.W., and all the prophets who have taught us the way. Much love!!

Jesus is not a prophet. You don’t say “I am the resurrection and the life” and just be a mere prophet or teacher. So three choices. He’s either a liar, lunatic , or Lord. Who do you say Jesus is?

@@roshinvarghese6879 I think you have a limited mindset with these options you’ve presented. The Islamic take on Jesus (peace be upon him) is one of reverence, because he was a messenger of God and we honor him the same as we do the other prophets before him as well as Muhammed (peace be upon him). My paternal family is very deeply-rooted in Christianity, but the idea of putting a creation of Allah/God on the same pedestal as the One which all things come from has always felt wrong to me. As an adult, I have learned that the term for this is idolatry. I have a great respect and reverence for Jesus, but I cannot fathom the idea that he would condone the narrative that he IS God rather than a path TO God.
The Quran says at the end of chapter 5:
“And [on judgement day] God will say, “o Jesus, son of Mary! Did you ever ask the people to worship you and your mother as gods besides God?” He will answer “Glory be to You! How could I ever say what I had no right to say? If I had said such a thing, you would have certainly known it. You know what is [hidden] within me, but I do not know what is within You. Indeed, You [alone] are the Knower of all unseen. I never told them anything except what You ordered me to say: ‘worship God - my Lord and your Lord!’ And I was witness over them as long as I remained among them. But when You took me, You were the Witness over them - and You are a Witness over all things. If You punish them, they belong to You after all. But if You forgive them, You are surely the Almighty, All-Wise.”
God will declare, “this is the Day when [only] the faithful will benefit from their faithfulness. Theirs are Gardens under which rivers flow, to stay there for ever and ever. God is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him. That is the ultimate triumph.” To God [alone] belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and everything within. And He is the Most Capable of everything.”
As someone who resonates deeply with Jesus’s message, it is hard to understand how people have missed this - for I ask you in earnest, from where or whom does Jesus’s (pbuh) power come from? For surely he worked miracles & helped prove to us the capability of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala when we were doubters, and I can even run with the narrative that he was resurrected although it goes against the Islamic narrative. Who allowed for creation to rise again? Creation, like Jesus (pbuh) and the rest of us has no authority to raise the dead/himself or work miracles without permission from the almighty creator who sets the laws of both man and nature.
So to answer your question, I do not believe Jesus to be a liar, lunatic, or Lord but rather a perfect test for humanity to see who actually got the message. Christian scripture, not coming directly from God (like Quran) or even Jesus himself, but rather from his followers who could not even agree amongst themselves, is anecdotal & requires a lot of interpretation, which is ripe for corruption. Only Allah swt knows if Jesus was truly Lord, liar, or lunatic - so I follow the strict monotheistic religion of Abraham and express my gratitude for Jesus’s lessons as well as the other prophets who shared the Truth with humanity.
If you are more curious about what I’ve presented here (as it was new information to me when I first learned it as well) I would encourage you to read Quran so you can engage in these sort of conversations with a bit more clarity. I say this because earlier in chapter 5 of Quran, verse 48; it says
“We have revealed to you [o Prophet] this Book with the truth, as a *confirmation* of previous Scriptures and a supreme authority on them. So judge between them by what God has revealed, and do not follow their desires over the truth that has come to you. To each of you We have ordained a code of law and a way of life. If God had willed, He would have made you one community, but His Will is to test you with what He has given [each of] you. So compete with another in doing good. To God you will all return, then He will inform you [of the truth] regarding your differences.”
I have no problem with you attributing Jesus as God, for I am not the judge & as long as you are helping to benefit humanity I know that He is the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful and is quick to forgive us in our earnest attempts to glorify Him and His creation.
