- New Order's first performance and rehearsal(s) of Bizarre Love Triangle - I've included the audio from the first soundcheck from their gig from which it debuted in 1985 - two bits of initial soundcheck as well as their first performance @ Hemel Hempstead (11.08.1985), as well as two bits from their soundcheck @ London Polytechnic (12.06.1985). Very rough/unfinished lyrics also heard live on the G-Mex version ("keep your thoughts inside your head/don't think too much or you'll be dead)!
Not intended to be comprehensive, just a fun look into the debut of one of the greatest songs of all time - special thanks to those who originally taped these shows as well as those who sent me audio! All rights reserved to New Order, etc

Amazing to hear how the song was slowly evolving into the final version.
Shows the amount of perfectionism that goes into production.
They had so many cool sounds. Seems like they threw everything in and picked out the best parts. Which is what we got in the end. I'm glad what we got
Incredibly beautiful to hear this form and what it became .
Early masterpiece
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS . IT BELONGS TO SOUND DESIGN HISTORY
Oh, man! It started out as an instrumental (because Bernard's always late on his lyrics, apparently) AND in a different key signature (didn't know that).
Thanks for posting this. I always like learning about the origins of songs and I love listening to original/demo versions!
interesting that the (now iconic and catchy) original vocal melody was so completely different. thanks
Thank you very much!
GR8 stuff‼️Thank you for sharing ❤️
- Richard Blade Played ‘Em
Bernard's Overpowered By Funk guitar became the one casualty of this becoming HIS backing band that is truly unfortunate, because of course he couldn't play and sing at the same time... if he had continued to simply supply riffs for Curtis, God knows what this period would have sounded like... its amazing to hear him hacking out the lyrics for this song, which the listener assumes fell out of the sky fully formed... a great historical document!
Ah fuck off will ya. It's a masterpiece
Barney is a very underrated songwriter and composer
Was bizarre love triangle recorded with the alternate lyrics? I'd really love to listen to it
Just during the first few live gigs. Never professionally that I know of.
