Your tutorial example is basically the exact first mission from Destiny 1. Which makes sense but it’s frankly sad that Bungie got it right in the first game but messed it up in the second game.
While I do agree that the current 10 year story is really long and fragmented, honestly if I could experience D2's whole story Red War - Final Shape I'd be satisfied. In fact the entire reason I started playing D2 was to experience the story. Ofc it's sadly been vaulted and chronologically I had to start with Shadow Keep fml BUT that's all I want. The story is a high point and a clean slate is very much a D3 thing. If Bungie just killed the DCV (and yes ik that'd need way more like engine upgrading, bringing it all up to current content standards etc) the game would prolly keep way more players than it currently does. There's plenty of games (and mmos) that have kept years of content available without needing to sunset
I think Final Shape would be more meaningful for more players that weren't there from the very beginning (including myself) if you could actually play from the actual beginning of D2
This. There never should have been a D3, nor a D2 in the first place. The whole point of live-service is you can update the existing game you already invested a fortune into, instead of releasing separate sequels. Sequels to live-services make no practical nor financial sense and usually don't make back their cost. This daft line of thought kills studios.

Destiny started as a box product model. Having a base game and then adding DLC. It wasn't really until Shadowkeep that they mangled it into a live service.
SMH idk why people want a D3 instead of asking to improve on D2's flaws. Or D1's for that matter. Making sequels to a live-service is wasting all the advantages of live-service in the first place. Just change and update the one game you already made.
Destiny getting that titanfall treatment 😭
I'm still waiting for titanfall 3 man :(
only difference is gross mismanagement from the ceo himself. as opposed to a publisher screwing the developer.
Why there's a Rent-A-Girlfriend trash in the thumbnail lol
Literally. I’m frl so confused 😭
mb I'll put Eris or Mara next time
@@jedisanjay nah it's fine lol
@@jedisanjay I like anime and ecchi stuff too but sorry bro rent-a-girlfriend ain't it

@Deltadog55 that's not what Live Service means. World of Warcraft was always a Live Service and had boxes in stores too.
@Deltadog55 Destiny 1 was a Live Service already from the start. Shadowkeep is a D2 expansion. You're saying nonsense.
BIKINI SKINS IS WHAT WE NEED. THAT WOULD BRING US BACK.
the only way for Bungie to get out of debt is to sell those lol
duuuuuude get to the damn point
Its good that d3 got canceled. Tired of people acting like d2 is a good game. Its a hampster wheel and a nightmare for people's wallets

@Gabdube this guy gets it. Also stop tryna charge a kidney to play all the content lmao
