1:53 - 6 months or so ago, youtube started recommending that channel to me and I quickly realized its not legit. I actually reported the channel to youtube for that reason but guess what - youtube obviously didnt do diddly because they too make money from these rip-off or scam channels as long as it is monetized. In other words, youtube is often complicit in helping channels violate their own terms of service. You as a channel operator have to track these copycats down and report them, youtube will not even look into it if the report comes from anybody else.
Not busting your stones but you have to go get a truck? You may just need to get one road worthy from your fleet. You have my dream fleet of vehicles. I can't help but be hypnotized by the equipment landscape. You probably couldn't drag me away from there.
Dang Allan your place is looking really really good you should build an underground tunnel to your fortress that would be cool…you also know a lot about hydraulics and Diesel engines and welding and building stuff…
All those trucks there ,and you need to borrow a work truck ,I'd be getting one sorted so you can use it ,much more efficient than the car . All I see is you battling and having to work harder ,longer just to keep going . What you have achieved is immense but with efficiency you would be way ahead .
Good call get rid of those scammers ,we dont need them , Might be handy if you had a verified logo to help. Amazed at what you get up to and get done , those small runarounds still starting with old petrol nice one guys. Stay safe M8.
Wizard, I can't believe you didn't loosen the hydraulic hose fitting near the bottom of the boom and drain the oil out first. What a mess. Good luck with rebuilding the seals.
Man. The commenters are on a tear on this video. Like the best of jerk is making fake IDs and ragging on you out of spite. Either that or some real viewers got their phone too close to their cheerios and got hydraulic oil in their bowl. "You have too much stuff!" "Get rid of it all!" "Stop talking!" "You're doing it wrong!" Damn people! Get over yourselves and watch the videos.
I have been following your channel for something On the John Dear I know it back in the late 1980's and early 1990's i lived in Fernley NV and work for Gopher construction and hauled that excavator all over northern Nevada and did repairs on it Never thought i would see it again i now live in Tucson AZ I'm retired and is good to see the old girl still has her life GOOD JOB
Interesting channel, congratulations on the thieves moving in on you, means you are doing something they can only dream of. Shame that you tube condone it.
❤ Old equipment needs maintenance when it has been setting up for long periods of time and not used often. When you use them often to still have a maintenance schedule for fluids and grease fittings. All fluids should be checked for contamination of water and keep all filters changed.
Allan you have dozens of trucks sitting around, have 1 go to ready truck when you need it, road worthy, would come in so handy for you hauling stuff around all the time. Can't wait to see the excavator fixed and running..
I wish you could get and keep several of those old trucks running and two or three road worth so you would always have one to fall back on and never be stuck. I do understand that those old trucks are not low maintenance or always easy to get parts for, it's just an idea.
The area you are working on looks so much bigger with it all cleaned out. Woah… she’s a gusher!! Those seals look pretty bad. No wonder it leaks, should probably do all the cylinders. As usual another great video 👍
He should also drain, flush, and clean the entire hydraulic system out while he's at it because it looks like a significant amount of moisture got in the system, and it would be a shame to contaminate the new seals with that nasty hydraulic oil and whatever else is in it!
@@multicammando I actually saw that channel and thought Dave had created that to make more revenue as a "best of" type thing. I figured it would have gotten reported or something if it wasn't legit... guess I was wrong because I was seeing that channel a few months ago and they're just now getting reported.
I've been seeing that best of channel in my feed for a couple or 3 months. Already seen the videos they offered on the original channels I never watched it at all. If it's not the authorized channel, take 'em down!
Next cylinder you do, leave the rod as far in as possible. Disconnect lines, then disassemble. Rod will displace oil in the cylinder giving you less oil to spill. As for the boom cylinders, they should be on a floating pin you can push trough the boom.
You see all these fancy yachts n houses and cars, but this to me is rich. This is how old wealth, millions of dollars, lives life in America. No where on earth could you do this. This project must be completed for Alan, the people, and for prosperity. This is pheonmeal. Please make this dream come true. 5.28.24
This is the kind of stuff I like to learn about by watching first so when I have to do it myself one day I have an idea of how to do it on this old equipment. thank you
Alan my dear you show the real life side of trying to do these things on your own. You do an amazing job my dear keep your head up. You will get it done, all your peeps will be here waiting for the next video 😀👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
Allen, if you need to open up another cylinder like that you should use the tarp to wrap around it and tape it on with duct tape, and set it up like a trough or a chute to funnel it into a bucket and i bet you could catch most of it! You should also let it separate in a bucket for a few days and then get a paint brush or a roller and coat the boom of your crane on the 5 ton and the cables of your winches and coat the benches in the 2-½ ton with the old oil and whatever else you want to preserve with it!
Good on you Mr. Wzrd!! Progress is always fun to watch. Keep killin it hoss! If I loved close, i'd be out there to help! Im sure im not alone in saying that. Keep the updates coming!
Right on Ellen that was a good video right when I'm going to do the Dipper RAM on the big backhoe on the ranch here perfect timing you take care and be careful out there
Hi Alan, if you disconnect the hydraulic line at the bottom, near the pump and put it in either the hydraulic tank or another container then crack the lines on the ram the oil will drain in to the tank/container. This will work best if the ram is all the way in but also work well if the ram has the piston pointing upwards.
Hey thanks for the update on that leach channel. I was asking about it in the past since it appeared to be a scam. Glad you were able to take care of your content!
Those nats are crazy here in Canada New Brunswick as well. I hate to go out they are that bad Thanks for being there with Alan Les makes this mom very happy that he’s not working alone ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have seen on the farmcraft channel (and maybe diesel creek), that sometimes if you apply a big shop vac on the hydraulic tank, when you crack lines open, it sucks the oil in and makes slightly less of a mess. May be something to investigate and try as I am sure you will have other repairs in the future which could benefit from it if that works and helps some. The spring looks like it would help slightly for preventing the bottoming out of the cylinders...which is bad when it happens.
Best way to wrap those ends is with saran wrap. A guy over in Australia does these rebuilds all the time on his lathes. Cutting Edge Engineering is his channel. Hope you can gain some insight from his channel.
If cylinders have any seal at all (once you remove the pin), retract the cylinder. They hold a fraction of the oil on top of the piston so you dont lose as much or GENTLY pressurize the opposite side with air while the machine is off and the control valve is set to drain back to the tank. (I'm sure you know all this, but it's easy to forget in the moment, especially on camera)
Suns out, bugs out. The little guys we get here in New Hampshire will leave you with dozens of itchy, annoying welts. The crazy part is you never feel one bite.

Love these longer vids kool to see the updates, Tbh it could possibly be water in the hydro oil (my thoughts) that might not be water in the hydro oil it could be aeration possibly caused by cavitation in the hydraulic pump, but that's just my thoughts. keep smashing it bro.

❤ i put a large towel over the spraying oils as I remove them, the towel catches the fluids and drips down into a bin. Very little mess.
