2012年12月28日南宁地铁1号线全线土建正式开工建设， 全长31.2公里，2016年12月28日南宁地铁1号线全线开通试运营， 工期4年。截至2021年12月，南宁轨道交通运营线路共有5条（1号线、2号线、3号线一期、4号线一期首通段、5号线一期），全长127.9公里。南宁是大陆所有少数民族自治区中唯一有地铁的城市。南宁人口约720万(包括市区及郊县)。
On December 28, 2012, the civil construction of Nanning Metro Line 1 officially started, with a total length of 31.2 kilometers. On December 28, 2016, the entire Nanning Metro Line 1 was opened for trial operation, with a construction period of 4 years. As of December 2021, there are 5 rail transit operating lines in Nanning (Line 1, Line 2, Line 3 Phase I, Line 4 Phase I first section, Line 5 Phase I), with a total length of 127.9 kilometers. Nanning is the only city among all ethnic minority autonomous regions in mainland China that has a subway. Nanning has a population of approximately 7.2 million (including urban and suburban counties).
