My God brings back memories of my big red which I used for the local emergency radio service in Kirkland lake, had so much fun ridding it and never ever rolled her but then I had a great driving instructor and teacher / head master mechanic Danny Charlton !

I once had a 1983 Yamaha DX225 shaft driven exactly like that. Never gave me a problem and regretted selling it.

I had the same machine as a teen in the mid 90s.....thing was a tank and never gave me any issues....I also had a blue moto 4 around the same year before I upgraded to a Blaster then a Warrior....I loved my Yamahas....I had the yellow tri moto until like 05 and it still ran the day i sold it

That's awesome! My dad had a Warrior and he still talks about it today! Yamaha has made and continues to make good stuff.

I have one of these for 6 years now and it hasn't let me down yet, I've changed the oil replaced the throttle cable and cleaned the carburetor its always started right up for me, although I do have a new issue with my lights when I turn them on while the bikes running it wants to die out almost instantly I figure the voltage regulator may be the culprit. These machines sure are fun to drive if you aren't scared to throw them around and keep good control of them for sure. love the content new viewer here.

That's is the most rare 1985 Yamaha ytm200ern this is a one year made machine 1985 only. Has the full package shaft drive 5 speed auto manual transmission racks front and rear and what makes it so special is the reverse and the electric start!! The one and only Yamaha with the full package this is a work horse!!

And ur most likely have to replace the starter switch which happens alot on the older bikes, the slide contacts wear out over time, and I thought it sounded like rewind at beginning of video, on the big reds they were notorious for the springs letting go or stretching over time.

It was a stater button issue. Cleaned the contacts and it works

The only thing I can't stand about the YTM200's is the crossover line under the gas tank!

I have one of these but the bearing case that holds the axle is literally torn in two. I cannot find a replacement anywhere. It is a chain drive and not a shaft. If you know where to find one please let me know.....new subscriber here...

@@thehonestmechanic Thank you. All I need is the bearing case. I am getting to the point where I am going to try and cast it myself . It has literally been 4 years since I found the three wheeler and I have only seen one on eBay and someone bought it before I did.

Plugging an over flow tube is never a good option that usually means a float issue

30 minutes in. These machines shouldnt run without a battery it will fry the bulbs and the rectifier worse case itll fry the stator. These machines when running the charge needs to go somewhere and that somewhere is a battery
