This wasn't just a song for Johnny. He lived every word every day.

He did child labor and seen his older brother die from a horrible work accident with a saw.
He did not just sing songs, he sang about life as he knew it.

Johnny Cash was an activist. He told it like it was-no matter who liked it & who didn’t. He sang about things in the world around him. Reaction = 👍🏻

No he was a CHRISTIAN... these blm communists are not “activists”, they’re Marxists cowards...they have killed more blacks, including many CHILDREN in just 2 months, more than any “cop” has in the last 5years...

@@Warped9 No, YOU'RE the one that doesn't know what they're talking about. The FOUNDERS of BLM, straight out of their OWN MOUTHS claimed to be "trained Marxists". Which is really ironic, since Karl Marx was a blatant RACIST who hated Blacks and Jews.
At LEAST 3 children have been killed during BLM and ANTIFA protests, and NOT by police. That's just a FACT.

This song came out in the last year of The Vietnam War. When he said "each week we lose a hundred fine young men", he was talking about the soldiers in Viet Nam. I think this is his finest song.

There is a wonderful clip of him singing the same song in front of a college crowd who didn't necessarily know him from Bob. He had spent time before the show speaking to the students and he had them roaring by the end.

Give it a go if you like.

Johnny Cash did a lot of meaningful songs. It's cool to see someone make themselves aware of new things. I like that you really listen and pay attention to the music and don't mess around with electronics and stuff during the song. Good for you! For a lighter mood, check out "Advice For The Young At Heart" by Tears for Fears. "Out of Mind" by Queensryche is another meaningful song but more serious. Lyrics for both would be a good idea if you like.

Welcome back and HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Johnny Cash was an inspiration to many. IF you want to see him at the end of his journey check out the official video for the song "HURT". It is a cover from the group Nine Inch Nails, however the singer/songwriter Trent Reznor officially said " I wasn't prepared for what I saw, and it really then. wasn't my song anymore". Johnny had his demons just like many in this world, but he also touched the hearts of many. his wife is in the video who died shortly after, and then he passed shortly after her. You probably will shed a tear but it is definitely something you should experience. Once again, welcome back (you are one of the 2 reactors I remain subbed to) and HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

First time to your channel, after this reaction and looking ahead to your other choice of songs, you have a new sub right on the spot!! Johnny was such a humble giving guy, but also had a lot of demons he dealt with. Not only did he play in many prisons and recognize the injustice back then, but he spoke out on all kinds of issues of social injustice, he was woke when there was no such thing..lol.
He released a song in 1970 called Sunday Morning Coming Down, and dedicated it to Dr. Martin Luther King, Gahndi along with John F and Robert Kennedy. Funny thing is, story behind that song shows Johnny's ethical fortitude and giving nature. It was written by a young Kris Kristofferson who at the time was sweeping floors at Columbia Records and sneaking demo tapes to June, Johnny's wife. The first time Johnny played it, was at a live TV performance, and said this is a song by Kris Kristofferson, keep any eye our for that name. Johnny could have easily released that as his own and nobody would have been the wiser or believed some "janitor" that claimed he wrote it. Johnny became his life long mentor and Kris Kristofferson spoke and performed a song at Johnny's funeral. Johnny was a class act through and through!!
