  • My Tern GSD 2 Atlas Lockstand was knocking and catching sometimes when I tried to put the bike on it. I put the bike on its end and had a look to see how to fix the problem.

This is an excellent video tutorial.
After re-positioning the catch, I carefully torqued the bolts as tight as I could, by hand - and I've not had further trouble. Personally, I'll apply thread locking fluid (the undoable kind) to the threads when this problem next occurs.
    Thank you, Fergus Macdonald!

The other thing to note is that the catch moves up/down slightly as well as laterally. I found around the centre point of the available movement up/down was best but ymmv.

Why not loosen the bolts, latch the stand, then re-tighten the bolts to set the proper seating position of the locking mechanism?

Tried that first but it moves back with time. The stand didn't do this when I got the bike but started after a couple of months.

My stand doesn’t even lock anymore after a little over a year of owning the bike.

Have you tried playing around with the bolts on the stand?
