I carry a military style backpack to work daily , keep my lunch and anything else I may need in it. Would be awesome to have a leather main bag, with molle II attachments!
Bro your videos inspire me so much because of you I started leather craft . And your videos are getting better each time. This video really stood out idk what it was but the way it was out together was so good !
I know this is a yr old but this is helping me a lot in my camera bag . Can’t quite use the insert . I carry about 5 lenses including a 600mm telephoto lens. It’s a beast .
Bro, that is a dead sexy camera back. I am going to have to get me one for sure. I do leather work but not as big of projects as that camera pack. Plus I can tell my Peeps I got it from Stock & Barrel Co. Nice leather work and great vid. By the way thanks to your Vlog with DLS I found and bought some really nice leather and supplies. DLS is my new place to go for my leather supplies, Thanks.
Great bag you made there. Great craftsmanship. Howdy there, I saw you were using a small anvil for a weight to hold your stuff down. I took some of my chap scraps (oil tan leather) & cut out a little 8" x 4" piece of leather. Fold it over into a 4" x 4" size, stitched 2 sides & 3/4 of the open end. I took some real old shotgun shells I had, cut them open & poured the shot inside for the weight until full. Then stitched the last 1/4 of the open end together. I have made others for people & used BB's to fill the pouch. Easier to use the BB's since they come in bulk. The soft chap leather doesn't scratch or indent any leather. They make good door stops too, lol. You can also use clinch nails where you are using those little clips. Works great. I learned that from a young great saddle maker out in Texas. See you can teach an old dog new tricks, lol. Just space the clinch nails about 1" apart just through your stitch line & stich slowly & pull the nails as you get to them. Works great. Sorry wasn't trying to hijack your video just giving out some helpful hints.
You laugh about junior high, but my company recommends double strap backpacks for transporting our laptops. The ergo implications reduces a lot of back stress. Great video.
Awsome Job! My wife has been asking me to make a bag like this for a few years. Have been worried it would be to hard for me to do. I think I may give it a go. Any idea when this template would be available?
I never thought I'd be describing leather this way, but that bag is some serious creamy goodness. Now I just have to keep telling myself not everything needs a well-worn patina.
If you are still having difficulties sewing over multiple layered seams, look into the "hump jumper". I have seen sewists use it when sewing heavy fabric, like denim. I've also seen people make their own. I've never used one, though.
Hi Mitchel, I was wondering if you don’t mind sharing the backpack pattern or at least if you can let me know where I can purchase it. I would truly appreciate it Maribel.
Good day Boss. Wondering what that imprint machine under the workbench with any hot foil machine is about. I have been searching for something that leaves a deeper Impression that the Tandy foil machine. Something that's more heavy-duty feeling. Appreciate you either way.
I'm looking to make something similar to this. How big was the side of leather? I know you worked around the imperfections, but how much do you think I'd need for a similar size bag? Love the videos thank you for posting!
Cool video, I watch regularly. I really like your workplace. Perfect. It’s a pity, of course, that more than half of what you are talking about I don’t understand ((. I read the comments, and this sometimes gives a more complete picture of what is happening. Google translator helps with this. I wish you good luck and happiness.
Looks great! One of my peeves about leather backpack is unpadded straps that are flimsy or uncomfortable. Can i find out exactly what material you used as padding?
Im just getting into doing belts and wallets. Im to the point where i need to invest in a sewing machine. I would like to get into doing bags as well. Would you suggest a flat or cylinder type sewing machine for a starter.
Need to get a sewing book on clothing to learn about trimming curves. What you would have found is how to relieve the bunching are V-shaped notches that are needed to remove the bunching. Also, the folding technique on squares corners, tabbing on Inside and notching on outside curves. I like backpacks but I need a strong handle on the top simple hand pickup and straps long enough to crossbody carry when in a hurry. You might think about making zippers more secure or hidden to reduce theft. Backpacks are something you want to travel the world with and feel safe.
Are you more of a Backpack person or a shoulder bag person?
Stock & Barrel Co backpack!!! 🎒👍🏻
Backpack currently... but only because I'm not finished my first leather shoulder bag!
Backpack

This is exactly what I needed. I had started to make my own backpack pattern and I got a lot of good ideas for the shoulder straps from this! Thanks!
I know this is a yr old but this is helping me a lot in my camera bag . Can’t quite use the insert . I carry about 5 lenses including a 600mm telephoto lens. It’s a beast .
Incredible looking bag man!

Bone folder for rolling the edge works pretty good. Basting tape makes zippers a breeze to install...no glue needed, and much, much faster.
Any update on when we could get this pattern🙏🏼🙏🏼 love the videos
Awesome video man! I just found your channel and love it. Thank you for mentioning everything you use, I'm drooling over that TechSew machine.

You should add a double zipper, that way it would be much easier to handle. I can wait to see the patina on it, Great backpack!
great work!! how did you learn to make the patterns? any secret?
What clicker press do you use nowe. That Tandy press is no longer available ?
Very beautiful
Amazing I’d love to buy one!

Thanks Nick, When your testing a new pattern I would probably start with a full side (~22-25 sq.ft)
How do you sew gussets on a thicker ounce leather with a machine?
I've loved your Chanel bruuh 👍👌

Same, I would love this pattern

Added note I recommend the Edna Brite Bishop sewing techniques and books.
Ive been wantn to design a backpack, but ive been afraid to mess up tha much leather.
Which type of leather is this ?
This is called Horween Natural Essex
@@whitandpark Thanks, I just stared in India. I also need some tools for same.
how much time did you spend on this project?
Do you feel the weird puckers take away from the overall project.
I have the same problems with duffel bags. Thanks
🙏👍❤️
Yeah I definitely prefer to not have that happen. As long as you get the length right it shouldn't happen. But it's tricky;)
Awesome.
I want one
Don't have a bag pattern?

Amazing backpack where is it in the website
