Did you enjoy Signalis dad? 📻
Been watching your content for a while now, You've grown a tremendous amount since those first few fable videos. As a up and coming channel myself got nothing but respect - Liked for the algorithm 👍Looking forward to the next video! Signalis is goated.
Still the weirdest intro... But great content on this channel
Da da da daddy issues
I haven’t played it, Son. All I want to know is… Are ya winnin, Son? 🎅
This was awesome. Thanks
The German in me appreciates the usage of our language for a game that is not playing in a particular time like every other game before
My experience with this game is interesting. You see, the country that I live in, had severe power outages this winter, when days would be spent without electricity at all. So I've been playing Signalis on my Switch, sitting in a dark room lit by candles, my power bank slowly draining and immersed in this story. Now it's special, because it's not just a great game. It's a memory.
I'd love to watch but I'm dying to play this myself. Instead I'm gonna just say congrats on what I'm sure is another banger video man - been loving this run recently
Don't spoil it, it's too good.
Signalis is one of my favorite games of last year. One thing on the aiming, I had a much smoother time on controller enabling that one option that lets you ready your weapon and aim just by moving the right thumbstick. (Shout out to Avalanche Reviews for pointing this out, I never would have thought to look for an option like that on my own.)
One of my favorite games of 2022 and honestly with some time and another playthough or two... I might consider it one of my favorite horror games of all time. This game haunted me long after I finished my first playthrough. It really sticks with you.
I really recommend playing it on survivor difficulty right out of the gate if you're a horror fan.
It's up there in terms of quality
The story really leaves a mark in the 1st playthrough. Albeit I should have bumped the difficulty up because I play too much resident evil... (RE4 onward)
The Yellow King? Number stations? Were the developers following my interests in 2014?
It feels like this game was made for me, thanks Son. I’ll play it right away.
one of the best horror games i played recently
Truly amazing
Nice!!!! This has been my favorite title ive played in the past few months, probably the best ive played from 2022 through 2023, super excited to hear your thoughts son
hope you enjoy!
Thank you for providing me with yet another Signalis video, I'm pretty sure I've watched all of them on RUclips by now :)
A very good review of an absolute masterpiece. Really glad I stumbled upon your video!
Wow. I really love stories where more than half of the story takes place before the film/show/game actually starts, and most of the point is to find out what happened.
My dad and I were talking just yesterday about a horror movie about a man who worked on a space station with an ai, and over the course of the film he found out that he was one of several clones, and each time the clones were dying they were told they would be sent back to earth, and then killed.
Moon?
Just finished it today and the first thing I had to do was watch this video. Awesome review as always!
Grats on another banger, Son! Honestly didn't think you were going to cover this, so it came as an awesome weekend surprise. That's why you're the best Son around! You pretty much described Signalis how I do to other people as well- it's space-Silent Hill. Just... Silent Hill, in space. I also think that explanation gives it the most "fun factor". A lot of people go with the whole "it's all just a dream and basically none of the actual gameplay you go through really happens", which I've always found boring and to kind of be a slap in the face of the person consuming the content. Whereas the more literally you take it as "Silent Hill in space" the more literally you can take a lot of the events, which in my opinion gives it far more impact since the actions you, the player, take have actual meaning within the world the story takes place in.
For endings the secret ending is probably my favorite. The imagery is fantastic, and the sheer events of what happens just implies so many nifty things. Most of the endings I'm perfectly fine with in general though as there's a lot of heart put into them. Absolutely fantastic game from beginning to end.
Definitely one of my favorite survival horror! I like your interpretation of the lore, I would like to speculate that the ship crash landed on a planet with the artifact used in the secret ending and created a new reality
I've had this installed for a while now, but I've had a lot going on and haven't gotten around to trying it out. whenever I get a little free time I usually default to playing a game I know I enjoy.
Gonna start it up after work today, and come back to your vid after I finish. I trust your judgement, son.
Just commenting for the algorithm. More amazing work, son
Brilliant review on SIGNALIS. Definitely one of my favourite games in 2023! :)
Been playing every game you recommend to me. Didn't know you had such good taste son
Couldn't believe how good this game was, went from hearing nothing about it until it hit gamepass and couldn't put it down once it did. Good to see you only play bangers son.
One of the greats
@@YourFavoriteSon1 it has influence on NIER
YES. YOU COVERED IT! I HOPED YOU WOULD SON! THIS GAME IS FANTASTIC. I hope it becomes a classic like parasite eve. Deeply loved by the pocket of people who know of it.
I believe it will
@YourFavoriteSon1 it desserves its legacy. Thank you for signalis boosting this gem ;)
Amazing video❤
I need to play this game! Thank you son for showing me this, I love u 😘
I'm sorry Son but I'll have to cone back to this essay once I've finished it myself, but know that I am profoundly proud of your work.
I haven't played this yet but I may have to give it a shot now. Seems to also take a lot of inspiration from the Nier series. Not just the Android/Humanity theming but in the way it tells it's story through multiple endings requiring new portions of the game to be explored
I'm glad you say the second R sound in horror.
I'd love to see a video on Phantom Dust, I played it a lot when I was a kid and loved it.
Favorite son, I am proud of you.
Thx for covering niche games as well son
thanks! I really enjoyed this one.
Signalis is the greatest game I have ever played, with an emphasis on every aspect its of artistry and inspirations. The artistic vision, the atmosphere, and the total immersion from the experience I had with this game left me breathless and in tears.
The artistic vision and atmosphere are the games biggest highlights
I instaclick on anything with signals and you making video about it is a pleasant surprise
Hope you enjoy it!
After seeing the reception to the game I bought the physical version on Switch. It was definitely a harrowing experience with the sound effects and music (such as it was) really enhancing the ambience.
I hadn't heard of this game until this video.
How bittersweet. Part of the story reminds me of NieR: Automata in a sense as well.
Havn't had this much fun in a survival horror game since i replayed re1make and silent hill 3 last year
good video is it ok if I ask you a question?
Signalis is so underrepresented. It was on my personal GOTY list.
Very underrated
@@YourFavoriteSon1 Son, how is this game underrated?
It's been called the best throw back survival horror game to come out in recent times and I just watched a video the other day that basically calls this game "The greatest Silent Hill game since Silent Hill 3", and plenty more that have said things along the lines of that. .
Underrated? Because it hasn't sold as many copies and has as many mainstream reviews? It holds an above 90% on Steam since it came out, and quotes like the one above have been said about the game.
It's certainly underplayed, but underrated? Not even remotely.
dig all this, Son
vid's flawless, Hon
Signalis: Fun
Poetry to my ears
Signalis was a game where I enjoyed the journey, but not the destination. This was, in large part, due to getting the Leave ending.
Being left with questions is fine, encouraged even. Watching your avatar turn around only to curl up and die seemed wrong (false?) after the effort of finally reaching the end.
son puttin' out fire
I’m proud of you, son.
5 hour signalis analysis and retrospective, plz
Son, can I suggest a video on the Parasite Eve trilogy? I know asking you to play the second and (especially) the third game might be a bit cruel, but I would like to hear your thoughs on those games.
A game from my Hometown, how lovely
Based
Amazing game. The closest thing I've seen to a "perfect" survival-horror. Solid gameplay, aesthetics and plot.
Silent Hill is definitely the reference as far as style and mood goes, but the moment to moment gameplay is strictly old school Resident Evil. To be more specific - Resident Evil Remake on the Gamecube. Elster has the exact same walk/run animations as Jill in RE1R when having the handgun equipped and that's just one of the references/mechanics from that game. There's also a lot of early Metal Gear Solid in it (1 and 2 specifically) the birdseye view camera and the way room transitions playing out being dead giveaways.
Catching this video early!
I'm sure I won't be playing this game, as it is not my cup of tea, but I can appreciate the themes and visuals
And of course, any video you make I have to watch son!
Thanks! hope you enjoy
I just finished signalis and got the “Memory” ending, and I realized something during the credits. It made me tear up
Spoilers!
As you might know,
The last scene is where the player “Elster” stays besides Ariane “the white haired girl”
And then Elster says that she wants to stay by Ariane’s side for a bit longer. If you play with a controller, you can actually feel the controller vibrates like a heartbeat. The heartbeats are active during credits, even during the results screen. I believe this is intentional. You the player are the one who decides to end her cycle, thus ending her life. To continue you must hold any button, they don’t want you to ACCIDENTALLY press a button and end the cycle.
This made me feel so much guilt knowing that I’m the one who will end her cycle.
So I turned off the game without skipping the RESULTS screen
And the physics version is releasing this month. (or last.)
Such a haunting game, like a sci-fi Silent Hill mixed with Metal Gear. But absolutely it's own artwork and unique narrative. Playing this was honestly like watching 2001: A Space Odyssey for the first time, just mindbogglingly awesome.
I thought it was more like silent hill atmosphere mixed with resident evil style gameplay in a cyberpunk and ghost of the shell like setting
@@aaronatkinson177 The fact that actual replikants are used in this game's lore is def a nod to Blade Runner. In fact this "borrows" from a lot of sources, paintings, anime aesthetics, literature etc., but all the while still being its own unique piece of art. I was so impressed by this game.
Me to such a experience
Just beat the game and saw i had started this video a while back never finished it glad i didn't remember anything when playing
Oh finally something that looks like it might interest me.. Too bad these is no Android port..
Playing this game, the society depicted gave me strong vibes of a "GDR (Eastern Germany) in space". Kudos to the writers for having a fresh idea.
Do a Video on 13 sentinels
Glad you're covering this one. Signalis is my personal GOTY of 2022 and has cemented itself in my mind as one of the best horror games of all time, if not one of the best video games, period. I have a lot of thoughts about its storyline. I love how arguably every interpretation of the story has at least some 'canon' truth in it, due to the cyclical nature of it. Every ending happens. It's possible that Artifact is the final cycle though, considering it's the only one that isn't really possible to achieve as your first ending if you're playing the game normally, and how different it is from the others. But what that actually *means*? Unclear. I don't care though; the images made me feel good. Perhaps Elster and Ariane can dance together eternally.
This game became my obsession for a whole month I forgot I even bought CoD.
It's wildly good
Good
Here before 800 views yay (like it matters lol but wanted to write one of those silly-ass comments once in my life haha).
Signalis ❤
Ah dude! YES! Very good game.
Amazingly good
i would kill to see you review dino crisis
❤
i want to play this but it looks too dark, i mean i need a flashlight
Literally 100%'d this game today and then I see this
The people who made Singnalis should be making a proper Silent Hill title. Because God knows the studios Konami have making them aren't all up to scratch and have generally put out average to poor games. The 2 behind this could do better.
Isn’t the king in yellow basically Nyarlathotep
There is actually 5 endings if you count the fake ending
Audio is still physical, sound waves are physically touching your ear. I think you meant to say, audio instead of visual, not physical.
Why all the endings have to end with the main character dying 😢
Just wished the artwork wouldn't vary in quality that much. Sometimes it kinda looks like something mediocre from DeviantArt 😅
If I had a nickel for every time Son says "game"...
I never heard about this game before but it does sound super interesting
It is
@@aaronatkinson177 indeed
Never watched true detective
i liked signalis, it was very enjoyable and engrossing. but i feel like it's references are too prevalent. by the end, i couldn't take the game seriously, as i knew every single reference they we're pointing at. the aesthetics are copied straight from neon genesis evangelion, silent hill 2 and ghost in the shell. to me it's a shame they couldn't be slightly more original, it almosts ruins something that is really great. i guess because the references are so intimate to me the game couldn't stick in my mind. i played it, finished it a month ago, and haven't thought about it since.
it was just me or you just missed the Ghost in the shell reference? (elster trying to open the door breaking her arm)
also i think all ending are canon at the same time. leave is just another failed cycle, like all the elsters in the elevator; memory too.
also the Lily ending well, lily in japan is yuri that also references female homosexuality. profound devotion for arianne
I wish to be your Signalis
This feels like a sponsored video, son.
It is not
6 slots is not enough with the amount of keys you will use. Even in RE1 Jill had 8
Christ I absolutely DESPISE it when devs go for the “no true ending” or “all in le head” shit.
Just makes the entire game feel worthless.
I agree, bro.
The problem is that most characters look the same, making the story incredibly confusing
There called replicas for a reason
